HDMI->Component 480p on Panasonic w/ Progressive Scan issue
Scratching my head on this one. I got a converter (https://www.ebay.com/itm/126022836983) to go from an old chromebook running linux so I could play YouTube VHS rips of old shows on a CRT I use for gaming, but the image looks skewed and distorted, even though the TV supports progressive scan and it's getting a 480p signal coming out of the converter.

Anyone got experience with this? Thanks for reading.

make sure the hdmi source is set to 1080p, and try hitting the res button on the converter
nah, i think i figured out that this tv (Panasonic CT-27SC13) actually doesn't support progressive scan despite the component inputs on the back and while the manual for the converter says it should output 480i as well as 480p, it doesn't seem to. I misremembered because i'd had a sanyo widescreen crt that did 480p/1080i that looks similar and my old brain is fooling me.

lesson learned and i'm gonna try a cheap hdmi->composite scaler and save this for something else, i guess.
