The board should be shipped with an updated BIOS, Zen 2 has been out for nearly a year now so I am pretty sure most retailers will have long since sold off their old Zen+ boards. If you want to be sure you are buying a board with an up-to-date BIOS which supports the 3600 gat any MSI board which is branded as MAX.
What comes to CPU bottleneck - even 9900k will bottleneck 5600 XT in old games and e-sports titles, but this isn't something to overthink. R5 3600 is a good CPU and will provide awesome performance in all games, and that's what matters.
There isn't that much performance difference between 5600 XT and 5700 XT, and 9th gen games will likely end up using ray tracing a lot, which both cards lack, so you're not going to run max settings with either. But if you don't mind few features turned off - then yes, 5600 XT might be able to let you play through the whole generation, just not on ultra.
Oh, and the case. MasterBox Q300L has enough space for any standard PSU, and it's actually even listed on their website as a feature, "Minimized Dimension with ATX PSU Support". No issues there.
go with a 1660s or better if possible
many am4 boards can update bios without a cpu
look up its manual to make sure it can
Looks good, but as Omega said, I would get a better PSU.
It's probably been long enough that B450 motherboards manufactured recently should come with a later BIOS. If not, I'm pretty sure some retailers will update it for you if you ask.
90% of the issues with Adrenalin 2020 have been fixed, so that's not really true. I haven't had a single issue since driver version 20.2.2. The drivers are fine now, for the most part, and I've crashed less with a 5700 XT than I did with an RTX 2080.
Many mistake Q-Flash+ for simple Q-Flash. Flashing without a CPU on a Gigabyte motherboard uses a Q-Flash+ button, and a USB port with the function, and few of Gigabyte's boards have it.
Regular Q-Flash that pretty much every Gigabyte motherboard supports still requires a CPU because you need to POST to even access it.
The B450M-DS3H has Q-Flash, but not Q-Flash+.
Driver are fine. It’s fixed.
You will never know the truth by asking in the forums, AMD fanboys will ALWAYS say AMD has the BEST DRIVER IN THE WORLD 200% sure, no matter what.
And Nvidia fanboys will say Nvidia is the best. It's rule from the beginning of time. And it will be like that forever.
So do your own research. Here is one video-

Thanks for the link. Just wondering, is there any particular reason you picked that motherboard? I found the MSI B450M PRO-VDH MAX which offers all the features I need for £40 cheaper. The only real difference, for me, is that the more expensive board includes more SATA slots but I'm not too fussed about that.
If you're on that tight of a budget or use a case that doesn't have many slots for drives, then the PRO-VDH MAX is fine. Still has a 32MB BIOS chip, while non-MAX boards, even X470s, only have 16MB chips.
So MAX boards should actually get software support for Gen4, which was removed due to BIOS chip capacity issues.
MAX boards are compatible with Ryzen 3000 series out of the box with already updated BIOS and this is one of the better quality B450 boards you can get with decent VRM shielding.
