Audio crackling in Google Chrome
Hey, I have finally got my PC fixed today and I have realized that ONLY in Google Chrome and it seems that only on youtube, whenever I fullscreen a video, the sound starts to crackle, whenever I exit the fullscreen, the crackling stops. This doesn't happen in Microsoft Edge, I haven't tried other browers...

I have tried updating audio driver, chipset driver, windows, gpu driver, even tried searching for some google chrome settings, tried messing with my audio settings, nothing fixed it. It also feels like that enabling hardware acceleration in google chrome fixes it, but I think that it will come back eventually because I had it enabled, it worked for a bit, tried changing some audio settings in windows and it came back even with hardware acceleration enabled...

I feel like that there is nothing wrong with my headphones because it only happens in google chrome and on youtube specifically.

Have any of you experienced similar issue ?

Thanks.

Also, I have tried Twitch as well and it's happening on Twitch also...

Even updating Google Chrome doesn't help
Google is spying on u 💀
You should always put your computer specs + operating system, but even without that almost certainly sounds like an issue with Chrome's hardware acceleration implementation and/or driver issues. You likely have something else running with hardware acceleration, Chrome doesn't like that.

You can try disabling it here:

Test afterwards if the problem is still there.

Whenever I enable the hardware acceleration, the crackling stops (at least for some time), but I don't want to have that enabled.

I didn't post my pc specs because I don't feel like it's a hardware issue because this is happening only in google chrome, it doesn't happen in games, microsoft edge, just google chrome.

Also, I have Win10 if that helps...
Disable any youtube greasemonkey scripts/addons or anything working on that site?

I have some extensions, but even disabling those doesn't help, I have no idea what else might be causing this...

Try creating a new account from within Chrome and see if the same thing happens in that (I mean in the browser, not like a new Google account).

try uninstalling your audio devices and then let them get re-installed automatically or manually if you want. I know you said you updated them, but removing them fully might possibly help.

I still don't really understand what you mean by the first suggestion, but about the audio, in order to install new drivers, I had to uninstall the old ones so I am not really considering that, especially when this thing happens ONLY in Google Chrome, I suggest it's something with that browser because it doesn't happen in games and it also doesn't happen in Microsoft Edge.

The funny things is also that whenever I play a youtube video in discord, the crackling is gone also... the crackling comes back only after opening it in google chrome, I will try to reinstall google chrome, I haven't tried that yet and see...
Re-installing google chrome also didn't fix it.

Not sure if this is too much trouble, but can you make like a video of it actually happening? I've guessed everything I can guess and I think the only thing that can give me any more ideas would be to actually see it for myself.

The crazy thing is that whenever I turn on the AMD Software which I use to update my GPU drivers, there is an option to record and whenever I open this program, the crackling also stops so whenever I try to record it, the crackling stops, I have zero idea what is happening.

You talking about the radeon program? can you close that? maybe that's causing it. What happens if you exit that? does your gpu drivers crash or something? I don't think I've ever done it.

It is weird though. Try disabling any audio output devices you don't need.

When I open it, the crackling disappears, when I close it, it comes back...
