Lost 130 Gb on my SSD
I pre-loaded Jedi : Survivor (130 Gb) on my SSD (which had more than enough space to download the game). Then on the day of release, as usual, the installation of the game took a lot of time, however at some point it stopped because of insufficient storage space. It seems that it was downloading the game a second time in addition to the previously pre-loaded gamefiles. After uninstalling the game through the steam client, the newly exported/downloaded game files have been deleted, but my SSD is still stuck with the 130 Gb of the original pre-load which I cannot acces despite my best efforts. I've never seen anything like it so I have to cross my fingers and hope someone might be able to help me with that.

Could you be more specific ?

If you are refering to the steam>steamapps>common file, it's already gone and it didn't free any storage space.

Okay I followed the thread and the files were in steam>steamapps>depotcache, deleting them did the trick. Thanks for the help guys. I think I'll avoid pre-loading games from now on

the way steam downloads and installs games at the same time takes 2-3x the space to do it
compressed files are downloaded, decompressed and copied on the same drive at the same time

Never pre-load games. I've had to do some pretty dumb stuff on a couple of games I did that early on. Just wait until the game is ready to play for your region, then download it over-night.
