Steam deck. Micro sd question
Hi. Sorry if this is a silly question. I have the 256gb steam deck and a 512gb micro sd. If I want to put a 1tb micro sd, can I just copy the contents from the existing card to the new one or will I need to re-download. If it can be copied, how do I do it?

You'll probably get better answers in the Steam Deck forum. You can do it but you'll need to have the Steam Deck format the new microSD card, and you'll need a USB/USB-C microSD card adapter or a dock with a microSD card reader so you can connect both of them at the same time.

With both cards formatted by Steam Deck and connected at the same time you just boot into Desktop mode and use the file manager to move the contents from one drive to the other.

Yes but you'll need to unlock the immutable filesystem and get into the console which imo is more trouble than its worth and more likely to cause unintended issues if someone is a linux novice and just copy/pasting or following along from forum posts which may or may not be technically sound.

Format the new SD card inside the steam deck first. Then copy the data from old card to PC. Then copy it back over to the new SD card. Then put new SD card in the Deck and power it up.
