What wireless headphones should I pick up under $500?
Im currently using the Audio Technica ATH M50x wired headphones but want to move on to wireless and perhaps better ones if possible. These have worked great for both gaming and music, but im not sure if other headphones will have the same duality as these do. I hear about latency issues as well, so I'm not sure if I should look for a usb wireless headset or connect via bluetooth. I've looked a a couple sony headphones that seemed appealing and the skull candy crushers but im not too certain about them.

Have you ever used them? They will sound better than your m50x and give far better soundstage. i dont imagine youve listened to many good sound systems or headphones with your jbl creature and m50x

I had the HD 660s before I returned them and it was not for me. I've noticed a lot of my favorite artists and producers use the same headphones I use in the studio so I picked them up and so far they have been my favorite headphones. I don't even use the jbl creature 2s anymore btw.

The problem is, OP seems to like his M50X without realizing that it barely qualifies as an 'audiophile' headphone, bloated bass, muddied mids do NOT make for a good sounding headphones. But then, audio appreciation is so subjective, the M50X was pimped out by many YT influencers, and many who'd gotten it, prolly their first 'audiophile' can, gushed at how 'good' it sounds.

Back when I was learning about cans and what makes for a good sound pair, I'd tried the M50X and immediately recognized that it was not for me. It sounded bad to me, instead, one of the many cans I went for is the ATH-A900X Ltd Edition, good sounding pair of can. I got it because I like Audio Technical, even snagged and owned the excellent ATH-AD2000, an open back that shone with female vocals. The trouble was, its treble was a tad too hot for me, though I like some sparkle in my cans.

I now have >10 pairs of cans, ranging from a couple of entry level to mid end to higher end cans, and most are open back, with just three being closed (Denon AD7000, ATH-A900X LTD Editio0n, modded Fostex T50RP) and I do enjoy them immensely.
get better headphones and speakers and itll transform your experience. Similar to how you have a very good pc and monitor, audio is something quite important to focus on as it is like 1/3 of your experience when gaming or 100% of it when making music with your midi keyboard.

Do you use spotify to listen to music? Clearly money isnt too much of an issue based off your pc specs but spending 500$ on bluetooth headphones where the sony wh-1000xm5 are the best option in terms of sound quality for the price then youre really not looking the right direction for value. Focal make some good wireless headphones but theyre out of your budget

Wireless is ♥♥♥♥, forget about it.
V-Moda Crossfade Wireless(2 or 3). Older models can be found for as low as $99.

When wanting to go wired for even better audio, just plug into a decent external USB based sound card. Creative Sound Blaster X4 or a cheaper USB based one, Sennheiser has a few as well.

Grab a vmoda boom mic if you need mic input attached to the cans, or something like the antlion wireless modmic.

Easy.
