Windows 11 Local Security Authority Protection is off in Windows Security

the thing is i dont get the option where it says
device security
goto settings.. clicking on goto settings
give me the message..
Page not available
-the page your are trying to access has no supported features and is not available..

so i click ok...
the message goes and i click Device Security
and it says Local Security Authority is off. Your device may be vulnerable
with a dismiss option under that...

there is no where to click on or off

i havent done the dismiss thing yet....

to get page to work i had to enable VMX virtualization technology in BIOS

so i google my ASUS motherboard model along with vitualization technology
to get the details on how to enable it.... simple enough... enabled.. yay

I now have access to core isolation details where i can
make sure Local Security Authority Protection is on and dismiss the warning... yay...

this problem is only a few days old
and seems to be from a windows 11 update on the 14 March 2023

i deleted a asio.sys driver...

Had this issue with the latest defender KB update, enabled VMX, modified the registry for LSA, then defender went bust.

Resulted in sfc and dism failing, so opted for a clean install. Everything is back to how it should be now. All device security is on and defender is functioning properly.

so far i have stayed away from registry...
but restarting my computer repeats the
same warning and its turned on... so i just dismiss...
and will wait for the win 11 update fix now..

As I said, try opening command prompt as admin and doing the following

Sfc /scannow
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

If either fail, the KB may have been corrupted and I tried every trick under the Sun to enable LSA. I didn’t even have device security enabled pre update because I didn’t set it up, and it still gave me the exact same issues as you. Backup what you need to back up, and if all else fails, reset the pc, keep your files, and download online when it asks you how to reinstall windows.

Allow windows to fetch new clean drivers after the reset, and reapply your settings. The only thing missing is AMD ryzen master, it fails to install for me, despite having it installed before, so no idea what happened there, but yea, it was a major pain to get this resolved. Plus I only used it to monitor temps, not OC so no biggy

i did get everything enabled...

the driver i deleted i dont need....
i have updated Asio for my music
programs and all is working.. and
that asio driver was just hanging on for no reason...

everything else is working... and its early days...

i can wait a week or 10 to see if windows update does a fix...

it aint broke enough for me to investigate further at this point...
but thanks for your imput Havok... which may still be helpful as people
realise this problem on their system over the next few weeks..
