Evga 2080 super temperature question

Hey guys, so i bought this gpu 2 days ago and im' in the middle of testing it, in furmark under heavy load 1080p for 20 min it reached 85 degrees is this normal ? also its idle temp is 48 degrees, should i hold on to this card guys as i'v never reached temps like this with my old 2060 super, thanks

My ASUS strix rtx 2080 super does not get hotter then 65c under max load and idle temps low 28c to 33c.

mine is 2 fan, also the case is VERY small i had to make room for the gpu for it to fit can't afford a case rn, i guess yours is 3 fan .

it differs, doesnt it? 85°C is also ok. depends on the case and cooling and whatever.

i think it is a 3 fan also you are correct my case is dog sh*t, i don't compare myself to 3 fan gpu's as they are decentley cooled mine is a 2 fan

i always leave my case open. i can do this, because i am not married, or whatever. if you know what i mean? :-)

Idling at 48 is either due to lack of airflow or because something is using the GPU stopping it from fully idling.

That is within the normal spectrum of temp. It all depends on your case, enviroment, etc.
But you should not be one bit concerned about that.

Things you could do to reduce.
Check if you have proper airflow in the case
Remove dust from fans (both case and GPU)

Case: Corsair Icue 465X RGB Mid-Tower ATX Smart Case, Commander Pro fan and lighting controller.

With 8 fans.
As for GPU's I buy 3 fan gpus for x80 and x90.
I buy 2 fans for x50 and x60.
For x70 either 2 fans or 3 fans is good.

Use dust filters and that should help to keep it clean.
You still have to clean it but it does not get so dusty as without a filter.

Just modify the fan curve to keep it at around 80*C max

your 2080 is a 5 year old card probably needs new thermal paste. My old one started to run hot (80c+) I replaced the paste and it went down to 65c max. I also had a good under volt going with overclock.

If you replace thermal paste make sure you get the right thermal pads.

I oc to 2070 mhz on the core and 18002 mhz on memory.
But remember not all gpus are made equal.
You can have two same gpus as me and both may be a tad different.
Also boost differs from game to game.
