is it safe to use an rtx 3050 with a 350 watt power supply that is 80+ gold rated and my cpu is amd ryzen 5 5600g

no
its a 130w gpu
amd says 5600g is 65w, but it can go over 100w easily

nvidia recommends a 550+w psu

gold does not mean it can put out more power, just that its more efficient

basic rules for psu calc, are cpu+gpu +100w(mobo/chipset/fans/ram/drives etc..) and double it
500w would be around the min
600+ for good overhead

Hah , another thread , just noticed it . Good news ! RTX 3050 8GB 115W (130W to be avoid) should be fine , if the PSU has 300W on 12V rail .
yea u found it but which 115w rtx 3050 is it tho brand wise

GeForce RTX™ 3050 VENTUS 2X 8G OCV1
ok thank u
find out themobo size/spec, if its m-atx or itx, you can put it in a standard atx case and use a normal atx psu, it will run cooler

the manufacture says its custom sized mother board but i believe its micro atx

if its a custom board, it may be custom btx, not easily transplanted to another case

Just wanna add - usually if 6 pin power connector is needed there is a high chance the RTX 3050 to be 115W
are u talking about the 130w rtx 3050? also i have a 6+2 pin conncetor

will an erica 8 mother board work with the GeForce RTX™ 3050 VENTUS 2X 8G OCV1?
smallcat eredeti hozzászólása:
if the card requires an additional 8 pin power PCI-E connector usually is 130W , if needs 6 pin power connector most likely is 115W

the mobo has PCI-E 3.0 x16 slot , so any modern card should work on it . But the question is whether it will fit in the case
how big is the card?
if your running 300 to 400 watts on a system, you want at least a 600 watt power supply , keep in mind extra devices will use addictional power, such as ssd drives , even plugging in a controller or a USB will have a power draw.

the reason being is powersupplys will burn out faster if the wattage is pushed to its limits, HP likes to use 350 watt power supplys with a weird kinda connection , these are difficult to upgrade the low wattage systems with.

it is recommended to get a differnt motherboard and better power supply if you intend to upgrade a system like this, keep in mind that you will need to contact windows support and have them adjust your windows key because a mother board will most likely not correctly identify your computer to activate the key.

always keep in mind that if you are pushing hardware to its limits it will break faster or over heat. ideally you want to keep your hardware running at below 60% to ensure its life time longevity.
6pin pci-e is 75w+75w (150) max (the 6pin pci-e only requires 2 of the 3 x12v power pins 75w)

8pin requires all 3 power pins, and can get 150w from it +75w from the board = 225w max

ok thank u and yes it will fit into my computer if i were to install it
thx for all your help everybody
No, because the card itself draws 130W, the CPU alone can peak at around 88W as per the 65W power spec, combine that with just 16GB RAM, an M.2 SSD and a mechanical hard drive, peak power draw can easily exceed 300W, it's too close to the edge.

Get at least a 500W power supply, no point in having less. This is cheapest PSU I could find that's a decent tier B.

the installation of a video card and memory are the easiest tasks !

plug it into the PCI-E slot and plug in the 6 pin power connector

edit - answer to the guy below
@尺.し工几句ヨ尺 , Ryzen 5600G is an APU so the power consumption is split between the CPU itself and the iGPU . Also 130W card is different from 115W .
thx for everything smallcat guess ill take ur advice and buy the rtx 3050 115w version i guess
