8GB VRAM on 3070Ti is a mistake?

Seems like nVidia made a mistake. It should have minimum 12GB. Anyone else agree?

Yes I agree, although 12 is impossible due to the bus configuration. It would have to be 16. For 192 bit buses it's 12 and 256 buses can have 8 and 16.

Nvidia can easily have 16 as there are modded 16g 3070s. They chose not to on purpose, for obvious reasons.

More or less, though the RTX 3080/3080 Ti 12GB would have longer legs for high res + high/max ingame graphics setting than the RTX 3080 10GB for obvious reason. Also, it'd leave nVidia fanatics, who're owners of the RTX 3070 series of cards, with no choice but to upgrade to RTX 4070 cards.
