This is nothing wrong.
I actually noticed after manually refreshing Windows Explorer that the Nvidia Control Panel had disappeared in my tray icon. I had to restart the Nvidia Display Container LS service to get it back. But when going into Services to do so, I had also noticed that the Nvidia LocalSystem Container Service was Off and apparently set to "Manual" for some reason.
I'm well aware that technically, THAT service should be running at ALL times. Not even sure why it was set to Manual. It could have been causing my Control Panel to always refresh the desktop after logging in because it wasn't saving my desktop refresh rate settings in the CP.
I have a question about that actually. Is it better to use the Nvidia Color settings or the default? I only ask cause I have set a custom profile in my monitor settings for colors and gamma. I also tend to use Sweetfx/Reshade in a lot of my games so I'm wondering if it's better to stick with default settings or my Nvidia color settings. Ditto for the "Color Accuracy Mode". Whether I should set it to "Override for Reference" or keep it as "Enhanced".
To change them, change them via your Monitor's profile. Most have presets you can cycle through at the click on a button on the Monitor.
But as for the RGB, it should be set to Full. If it's set to Half, then your screen always looks dull and washed out, not vibrant and crisp. Where Black looks Grey and not as it should be.
Yeah. I have Colors set to default. I have RGB set to Full. Although blacks sometimes looking grey is still a thing if only cause it's an IPS display, and only has a 1100:1 contrast ratio. Thankfully, the "IPS glow" isn't as bad as other IPS displays, and I have the brightness set much lower so the backlight glow isn't as obvious.
For example Asus Monitors have at least 6 of these. One good for Photo and Video editing due to color accuracy(RGB), one good for general OS use, one good for Night Time, one good for Movies and another for Games. The one used for Movies is also good for Games, however the one labeled Game Mode is bit brighter and great for games that offer very dark areas, which in this mode allows better ability to see in dark tunnels, during night time, etc.
I can switch to them quickly with a single toggle button on the Monitor.
