Cannot install SteamOS in my PC
Hi, so I'm trying to install SteamOS on my computer now that it supports nVidia as well :D
I have a problem, though. I am following the instructions here: https://store.steampowered.com/steamos/buildyourown
I downloaded the image from the link in the instructions and used Rufus to build it in a USB drive. Then I tried to boot from the USB, but it gives me two options, it says UEFI partition 1 and UEFI partition 2. If I choose partition 1 the computer just gets stock in the POST screen. If I choose partition 2 the computer goes to a recovery screen with 2 options: Troubleshoot and Shutdown.
This is how I built the image:
Partition MBR
Format Large Fat32.
Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

SteamOS 3.0 is only available for the Steam Deck, it will not work properly on anything else.

That page is out of date, it is about SteamOS 2.0, which is 10 years old now and no longer receives any updates.

The image you downloaded is the Steam Deck recovery image, Valve took the old 2.0 image offline but left the page online for some reason and made it redirect the download to 3.0.

Until SteamOS 3.0 releases officially for devices that aren't the Steam Deck, (Valve time) you can always try ChimeraOS[chimeraos.org] It's the SteamOS 3.0 experience in a custom Linux distro. It works very well.

Steam OS 2.x was dropped and is no longer available.

Go make a bootable usb for a Linux distro that is better suited for gaming such as Ubuntu, Kbuntu, Mint, Pop_OS

Then get Steam from the built in app store, once Steam Client is up and running, enable Proton.

It's better to do a general linux installation and set up Steam and Proton and Bottles yourself.
