Just wanted to put this out there because new PC users may not know the difference between pastes.
Key is to stay far from silicone-based crappy thermal paste.
The caveat with using silver is that you do not want to touch it with bare hands. Frankly, you should not touch the CPU with bare hands at all as the skin oils can get trapped between the layers causing temperature sink gaps. But silver can be poisonous if too much is absorbed into the skin - use gloves.
If you want even better temps with air cooled get a Bequiet Dark Rock 4 Pro. I get 34-37 on idle and 40-48 gaming
Noctua sells such kits for like $5.
Arctic gives that option by default now.
Thermal Grizzly offers a simple universal offset mounting kit for any other cooler.
It’s only 1-3 degree improvement but also why not kind of thing for new builds.
Combine that with a good case, good fans, good thermal paste and it all adds up.
