weird texture stretch bug
Guys, not so long ago I built a PC (Specs down). And i have this strange bug in every game i played. This bug appears not every time , but if appears its look the same in every game.

specs: ryzen 7 5700x, rtx 3070, 32ram

Multiple games? Uh oh.

I'd be trying different drivers but polygonal issues like that are usually the GPU incorrectly calculating vertices. You often see this on a bad GPU.

Your GPU doesn't appear to be overheating.

Does this occur if you underclock the clock? Like it you limit it to base clock or at least "base boost" does it still occur? Would help rule out if it's an instability at the clock speed it is boosting to now.

Thank you for your response! I think the problem is in the GPU memory. I can tell you why I think so. My brother built a computer exactly like mine. And we overclocked our CPUs identically.

Can this be like manufacturing defects?

every piece of silicon is different
2 cpus will not oc the same

i dont see any problem with the image posted
it may be your display
make sure windows is set to the native res, and display scaling is 100%
and dsr is disabled, and game res is set to the display native res
To the above who don't see it...

...That's what I thought OP was referring to, but I'm not familiar with that game/spot so maybe it's normal. It appears textured but the shapes don't appear normal so they look like classic polygonal errors from miscalculated vertices to me (which I think is usually GPU and not VRAM) rather than part of the terrain.

If you're overclocking, remove the overclock and see if it persists. If not, that is the cause; it is not stable at the attempted settings.

As an above reply said, not all silicon is the same. Some might be stable at one setting and another might not be,

imgur link broken, zip file contains nothing
Uhhh! Imgur is getting worse. I saw that it showed nothing when I clicked it but I thought it was a temporary thing on my end. Let me get it again.
Okay, see if this works.

And again if that's actually normal terrain for that game and spot (though it seems suspect) then I am also clueless as to what OP is referring to.

Usually driver issue

Wipe everything AMD and NVIDIA with the DDU app in safe mode.

Then reboot, download and install latest:
AMD RYZEN Chipset Driver
NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready Driver
Reboot after each completes install.

Run Disk Cleanup via Run As Admin and wipe the junk, especially the DX GPU Cache

Go through your games in Steam and Verify them.

Based on the picture you provided, the texture stretch bug you are experiencing in games could be related to a few different factors. Here are some potential causes and troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. **Graphics Driver:** Ensure that you have the latest graphics driver installed for your RTX 3070. Graphics driver updates often include bug fixes and optimizations for various games.

2. **Graphics Settings:** Check the in-game graphics settings to see if there are any specific options related to texture quality or rendering. Experiment with different settings to see if the issue persists.

3. **Temperature and Overheating:** Monitor your GPU's temperature while playing games. Overheating can cause graphical artifacts and glitches. Ensure that your GPU is adequately cooled, and consider cleaning any dust buildup inside the PC case.

4. **RAM Stability:** Test the stability of your RAM using software like Memtest86. Unstable or faulty RAM can lead to graphical issues.

5. **DirectX and Visual C++ Redistributables:** Ensure that you have the latest versions of DirectX and Visual C++ Redistributables installed on your system.

6. **Verify Game Files:** If the issue occurs in specific games, use the respective platform (Steam, Epic Games Store, etc.) to verify the integrity of the game files.

7. **Clean Graphics Driver Installation:** Use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to completely remove your current graphics driver and then reinstall the latest driver from scratch.

8. **Check for Background Processes:** Ensure that no background processes or applications are interfering with the games. Close unnecessary programs while playing.

9. **Monitor Overclocking:** If you have overclocked your monitor, revert it to the default refresh rate and see if the issue persists.

10. **Other Hardware Issues:** Double-check all hardware connections, including the GPU and power connectors, to make sure everything is securely seated.

11. **System Updates:** Ensure that your Windows operating system is up-to-date, and check for any pending updates.

If you have tried all these troubleshooting steps and the issue persists, it's possible that the bug may be related to a specific game or a driver compatibility problem. In that case, consider checking the game's community forums or reaching out to the game's support for further assistance. Additionally, keeping an eye on driver updates and game patches may also resolve the issue in the future.

You right! That's exactly what I wanted to show in the screenshot.
Yesterday I came across a post on reddit. The screenshots there show the same bug as my bug.

Btw thank you guys for your responsiveness

That's not a texture thing. Textures can only stretch on surfaces. What you have is a vertice going ham. And that must be caused by some XYZ coordinates being messed up.
Testing is difficult and i still don't know of a reliable VRAM integrity check. Might have to fall back to FurMark and look for other artifacts.
If VRAM is faulty smaller games with little VRAM in use might be fine while larger titles will big usage may always see glitches.

Was it a new card or a used one?
