Opinions about new build?

[Baaaal]

I built a new rig (my old one was 10 years old, so I had not really been gaming much on PC for the past 5 years or so) with the following components:

Gigabyte Z790 UD AX
i5 13600KF
RX6800
32GB DDR5 6000Mhz
Samsung 980 PRO 2TB
Be Quiet Dark Rock 4
Corsair 4000D Airflow
Asus ROG STRIX 850W Gold

So far, I'm very satisfied with the performance, but since this is the first time in 10 years that I've built a PC, I'm a bit out of the loop with the latest gen stuff, so I used whatever common sense and hardware knowledge I have. I know the GPU is a kind of "bottleneck" in the sense that I could have bought a 6900XT or something, but I very much do not like the fact that the latest, reasonably priced (lol) Nvidia cards come with 12GB VRAM and with the insane VAT we have here, this rig was already stretching my budget very heavily.

What are your opinions? Is it a well-balanced setup?

Yeah, when I buy a new config, I always run 3DMark, MSI Kombustor and stuff like that for a few days, and they give me good numbers, but I'm also satisfied with actual gaming performance.

Seems fine to me. I wouldn't pay attention to the incessant whining about bottlenecks. If it was a GeForce 6800 talk about bottlenecks would be relevant. But not an RX 6800.

If you have problems you'll upgrade the GPU at some point anyway, so and people will wail about bottlenecks then to. Best to ignore it unless you have a tangible problem, or are in a situation where upgrades won't improve performance.

would have choosen a double tower with 2 fans at that level of cpu but as i said personal preference

Yeah that makes sense. TBH I wanted to keep the case because I was pressed for budget and I do not care much for RGB and flashy ♥♥♥♥ like that, and this case is not spacious enough for a double tower. But so far, thermals are fine. CPU reaches around 65-70 degrees under very heavy gaming load, and around 55 max in older graphically intensive games like Metro Exodus.

I won't critique it much because one can always make minor criticisms about "what maybe could have been a bit better" but it needs to meet your needs, not anyone else's desires of perfectly optimal. And it sounds fine given your reaction to it. You're answering the thread yourself.

There is always a bottleneck, and there is no such thing as what people claim is "balance". So don't worry about trying to do the impossible and avoid something that is always there, and just enjoy it if it gives you the performance you want, and upgrade it if not. Truly that simple, but people like to complicate it by dreaming up visions that go against reality.

Well, but I mean user benchmark specifically. You don't like that site? If so I understand. I like to run it to make sure my stuff is for the most part working as expected.

Ah, right, didn't know that specific piece of software, thanks! I just ran it, and it basically gave me a very high score, and a pretty good percentile
