I am fortunate enough to have Microcenter nearby. And also, Free Geek.

That should also spread to more states. It's nice to donate old PC parts or volunteer with them.

I have both: Micro Center and Best Buy. For a lot of things, Micro Center costs around the same as Amazon, without the shipping fees.

It must not be that easy to expand the chain so much. I looked it up, they will be expanding by 3 stores come 2025. It seems it's been in business since 1979, which is kind of a long time.

I'd rather go there than to Best Buy, which is much closer to me. They used to let a bunch of homeless people play with the demo computers and in addition to higher prices and less inventory, that kind of left a lasting bad impression even though it's cleaned up now.

Over the last couple years I have come to appreciate Best Buy a bit more. It's nice to have a brick and mortar store for the bigger things I don't want to risk getting busted up during shipping and Micro Center just doesn't cut it for anything that ISN'T pc part/tech related.

Best Buy has everything else electronics wise and even though it isn't that cheap, the prices aren't that bad and do match everything else online as far as I can tell.

Well two things:

First, keyword "if", If their competitors did nothing to compete they'd put them out of business. Would their competitors do nothing? Not likely.

Second, Best Buy and Microcenter aren't the same business with a different name. Best Buy isn't a PC shop exclusively, and I don't think the majority of their business is PC hardware.

Third, assumptions and imagination don't guarantee outcomes.
