Steam not downloading on windows 11
Steam hasn't been working for me at all in windows 11.
it keeps saying either corrupt disk or disk read error.
i have reinstalled steam, repaired folder, deleting the active download folder, turned off antivirus.

this issue doesn't happen on ea app or battle net or epic games.
i can download games on their perfectly fine.
if there is any other options/ fixes please let me know.

Have you tried install Steam outside of the default "program files" folder? So instead of "C:/Program Filesx86/Steam/" try something like "C:/Steam/" or "C:/Games/Steam/"

What kind of drive is your D drive? Do you have any other drive you could try installing to?
Also when you upgraded to Windows 11, did you upgrade your previous OS and install 11 on top of it, or did you do a fresh reformat and reinstall of Windows 11?

Is it an internal SATA HDD or an external USB HDD?
And again do you have a different drive you can try so you can rule out any possible drive issues?

its a internal hdd, i dont have a spare usb hdd,
while typing this one of my games which did disk read error actually install and the other game which had the corrupt disk error has gone past 83% which is where it last has the error, i tried verify game files which has somehow worked for one on the games. we will see if it works for this other game

Update: It is fixed. whenever it corrupt disks or read disk errors, i just verify game files and that just fixes it
i have no idea how but it does

I'm having a similar problem, first is started with my Gmod not starting up and getting a "No steam user" error, then my game icons are not appearing.
