Problem with Installing/Updating Endeavour OS
So finally I moved to Endeavour OS, installed it but I am having issues with updating it.

I'm trying to follow this guide: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=StHVU-Zvacs

My "Welcome" box says "no internet connection" but I clearly have, as I can use internet. I did the first step but when I try to update system it says "connection failed" and then asks for password but doesn't let me input something. Same as terminal. Doesn't let me write anything. I can only put my password when something needs access or something. Anyone can help? I couldn't find proper help on İnternet

Never heard of it. That's saying alot.
Try a different Linux distro and perform a drive wipe + clean install.

It's based on Arch Linux.

Well I been dealing with PC OS', hardware and software since 1990; I still never heard of it and that speak volumes.

There is a top 10 list of Linux that are deemed good for stability, work and especially Gaming; if your Linux of choice is not on that list, don't use it. Especially if your goal is Gaming on Linux using Wine or Steam+Proton.

Look strongly into these and how their user experience is:
Pop_OS
MINT
Manjaro
Ubuntu
Kbuntu

yeah it's rarely ever recommended compared to Manjaro as far as Arch-based options go, Manjaro and Pop!_OS are on almost every top 10

I mean really, I can't tell people what to use. But again if your aim is even remotely going to be in regards to using Steam+Proton, then the whole "Best top 10 Linux distros for Gaming" is a good thing to go by.

It is, also depends on which GPU you're using since releases that aren't getting frequent updates won't have the drivers for the latest GPUs, Ubuntu 22.04 (used for Mint, Pop, etc.) only supports up to RX 6000 and RTX 3000.

I would definitely say by default that Nvidia users should try Pop!_OS first because they have releases specific for Nvidia users that installs the best driver automatically. Only when they get used to Linux should they ever consider Manjaro

NVIDIA users should stay away from Linux anyways.

While I do not like AMD GPUs very much, they run and work fine under Linux and are much preferred when using pretty much any Linux ditro.

I installed it due to specs of my pc.

What I find strange is, everything I find in the internet is a out the internet connection in general. People having no internet for whatever reason. For me, it is just the "welcome" box is the only thing that doesn't connect. No idea why.

I just woke up and I will try again today but if not, I have no idea what to do. I definitely need to update system and drivers but can't seem to be able to do. If not, I'll just use windows again (which I really don't want)

I've been using Pop!_OS as an NVIDIA user with similar results to Windows, only glaring issues are more specific to Proton having issues with anti-cheat software.

Performance is similar, usually only very slightly worse than with Windows.

What the Endeavour OS welcome screen is most likely doing is trying to connect to a specific domain, most likely ping.archlinux.org or something similar. If this fails it will claim you have no internet, I wouldn't worry about it.

When typing your password in the terminal will will not show anything, this is done for security. But it is typing.

It is one of the most popular Arch-based distros. It is basically just Arch with a bunch of preinstalled software and a graphical installer.

Well I just meant with regards to any drivers and such.
Linux with Intel or AMD CPU + AMD GPU = you don't have to touch drivers; at least not for the GPU

If you say so. I never knew popular and linux could ever be side by side in the same sentence.

True, but the NVIDIA LTS version of Pop!_OS does the same thing, which is why I mentioned it, you don't have to touch anything to get the Nvidia drivers working just as it would be for AMD. Haven't had any problems with drivers myself either.

Is there any other way to update system? As I heard there is a driver update for Radeon 7000 series, especially for the power consumption problem of the cards, but I don't know if it is installed automatically or not and wanted ease my sanity.

As for terminal, I am even more confused now because I put the password and press enter, it says wrong password or something and wants me to repeat. Tried several times but it just refuse.

Endeavour most likely has a graphica app store. You can updating your system using it.

If it doesn't have one you can instead use the following command to run updates.
sudo pacman -Syu

These drivers are a part of Linux and Mesa, they are updated during normal system updates.

If it says wrong password you typed the wrong password.

Thanks a lot. I will give it a try in an hour and let you know if it works.
