What is GPU 2 in Afterburner?
Replaced my old gtx1063 with rx6600 and now afterburner is showing gpu2 temp in the end of all sensors. It stays at 80C+- during gaming/benchmarking/stress tests. What's this and should I worry about it's high temp?I don't have integrated graphics so clearly both gpu1 and gpu2 are related to the 6600.The card is Gigabyte eagle 6600 with 3 coolers

could be the hotspot temp sensor or whatever its called, which its normal for it to be that high

That aside
i assume you uninstalled the NVIDIA driver then shut down the PC before installing the AMD card?

Yes I removed Nvidia driver with PhysX and everything using DDU.I also unplugged the internet cable to make sure Windows won't auto install some crappy outdated driver as soon as I start my pc
Edit:googled some info about this bug/whatever it is.Some people had a GPU2 sensor showing 90-100C on 2070 and similar cards

It could be the hot spot temperature for the RX 6600, as has been stated. I wonder why Afterbnurner fails to read/show that for the nVidia GPU though.

You can check if this is what it is by using something that will show hot spot temperatures (I use Libre Hardware Monitor, but Open Hardware Monitor, now inactive, or HW Monitor also show it, and I imagine HwInfo64 does too). Compare that to "GPU temperature 2" and if they match, then that is what it is.

Donloaded HWinfo.Seems to be exactly that hotspot
Figured as much. Afterburner doesn't show this for nVidia GPUs for some reason. Might be because this was something no software really showed for nVidia until the last year or two for some reason, and Afterburner went into a lull on development (until recently?).

as i suspected it was

NVIDIA GPUs will only show it with specific software/brands and series, EVGA cards and EVGA Precision for example.

There might be an OSD/Display sensor in the settings you can enable for it to show maybe?

That's not correct because mine (EVGA nVidia) definitely shows with a vast number of different software.

It has nothing to do with needing the matching software to whatever brand GPU you have. It's simply that Afterburner didn't support it on OP's old nVidia GPU and does on the new AMD one.

As for why, it may be because because no software really reported the hotspot for nVidia until the last year or two whereas a lot of stuff did for AMD, and Afterburner went for a long time without being updated until recently (no idea if this update has it reading hot spots on most GPUs now or not) so if it was even added, it wasn't until recently and a lot of people might still be using older versions. Regardless, it was clearly Afterburner specifically not reading OPs old GPU but now reading the new one, but you definitely don't need your GPU brand's software to read it on nVidia.

None really reported hotspot until AMD made it a thing with their GPUs which then NVIDIA started including hotspot temp sensors, OR the other way around, either way, hotspot wasnt really a thing until a few years ago.
Yes, nothing reported it for nVidia until recently(ish) and stuff showered it for AMD before that. I'm saying that's precisely what explains why Afterburner didn't show it for OP (Afterburner went into a lull period of not being updated until recently).

It has nothing to do with brand (like EVGA, MSI, etc.) or needing their particular software that matches yours to see it like you said.

The latest EVGA Precision and 20 series+ shows hotspot, which is what i was referring to, the ones that show all the extra sensors.
