RTX 4090
Thinking of getting one but only if I can guarantee myself very little or if not no coil whine.

Can anyone recommend the best brand for this and which model ?

Thanks.

Its going to depends on the game or if your CPU can feed the 4090, there are some games the 4090 still gets held back by even the 13900k in 4k.

I would definitely look into a bigger monitor if you are at 1080p, but 1440p with a 4090, yeah the CPU will probably hold the 4090 back to some degree, but I'd say you'd be fine and just upgrade a monitor later on.

I myself would probably get a 4090 even if I was on a 1080p monitor and just upgrade the monitor sooner rather than later for a better experience, Of course you'd get people that will say your stupid for that, but screw them. A 4k monitor is rather easy and cheap to get.

Thank you.

thats nonsense i built a 13900k with a 4090 to run at 1440 to be able to power thru the
total crap AAA game releases they have been putting out the last couple of years and
will continue to do so for a few years.4k is still not for prime time yet IMO for high
end gaming.im not going back to 60fps gaming.those caveman days are over why
would anyone want to return to slow clunky gameplay.i want great graphics with
high fps gaming and i get it.

You must have been really lucky then. I went with the Galax because it's over 300 USD cheaper than the TUF and over 400 dollars cheaper than than the Strix here, and OC's really well. No reason to pay the Asus tax.
the OC cards from most if not all brands get the better silicon, thats worth it to me
so when the time comes i can push it further than the standard card.

and never bought one of the lesser cards other than a zotac 3080 and that was to wait
for my EVGA 3090 and the zotac was decent but clearly not a higher end card and
it showed in performance and build.you get what you pay for.

Thing is no one selling Asus cards anywhere near MSRP here. Back then in January when I bought my card, it's like 779 USD more expensive than a Galax 4090 SG which is not cheap itself, 1,775 USD, and OCs better than the Strix OCs I see in reviews, and runs cool.

The Zotac 4090 is actually about $100 cheaper than the Galax but runs hot.

Nope. I play ultrawide 1440p. No coil whine on my end.

But like I said before, it's playing the lottery.

Doubt you all will know but is there any RTX 4090 that will fit in a Lian Li PC-O12 WX Mid-Tower Case ? I know it is not sold anymore it is a pretty old case.

If Newegg's specifications on that case are accurate, it has a length support of up to 340mm for GPUs.

As far as I know, the Founder's Edition is the smallest but unlikely you'll be able to find one. MSI's Suprim X has been mentioned in the thread which has a length of 336mm. You can also look at the different 4090 models on their respective sites and check their dimensions to see if they fit.

It is more the depth I am worried about.

Technically it only has 2 slots for a video card

Msi Suprim X Liquid Cooled edition will probably fit in your case. The GPU itself is small with only a Single Fan, and also pretty thin - only 1.5 slot.

Thanks.

I will measure the cords first they don't look/seem long enough.

Greatly appreciated.

it is a design mistake the fans are designed to go full tilt when like 400 watt is reached then slowly go down to the right fan speed meanwhile its a 1000w unit... i ain't getting a asus tuf gaming 1000w ever again that is for sure

Sorry to hear that.

Glad I got my RTX 4090 for $1013 but thinking of selling it to get the brand I really want. No not for a unreasonable price and not on here sense I know that is disallowed.
