RTX video enhancement and super resolution destroyed my windows
im at 1080p resolution today i realized that option and decided to test it and see how much fps im gona get at 4k. I tested i get average 45-50 fps at furmark which is suprisingly low i have 4070ti then i return to my normal settings test it again...

My regular fps score droped by half my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ windows started to act like my 1080p screen is 4k or 2k idk i normal get 410 fps at furmark 1080p and when i was returned to 1080p i started to get 200fps.

I reinstalled the drivers reinstalled furmark tested on diffrent benchmarks nothing worked. It also droped fps's at games its like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nightmare....
....
I reinstalled the windows while i cry.
It fixed the problem my gpu works as intended but i lost 1.5 tb game in the proces this is why i was upset i dont have a fast internet i have to keep my pc open for a week to redownload everything :(

My suggestion to everyone stay the ♥♥♥♥ away from that option no matter what it doesnt work and it ruins your pc

Dang man, I'm sorry for your loss. If you seriously have internet that slow, set up another partition or use another drive so that you can wipe Windows and still keep your games.

OP:

*turns on Super Rez*

*Super rez sets desktop default to higher rez*

*runs Furmark with it set to 4k*

Higher rez = lower frames = *surprised pikachu*

*after run, desktop is still likely running at the now 'normal' 4k setting with magnification for clarity in windows 2d.

*rather than turn off SR, OP decides to reinstall drivers*

(likely did a regular reinstlall and not a clean/factory reset reinstall)

*Machine does the same thing from the same settings*

*Razed earth and reinstall the whole OS*

'Mah net is slow, this sux'.

Why yes, yes it does. Next time dont do this. The setting was not the issue, your lack of understanding on what it is, how it works, and how to turn it off was the issue.

All ya had to do was go back and turn it off. That simple. No drivers, no reinstall, no new windows. All of that was just you spinning your wheels.

Again, this is a case of you needing to learn, not steam not letting you do it. Its def something you can do. Just tell steam where you want the new install directory set on the new drive and go.

Rtx 4070ti shouldn't get 45-50 fps at 4k furmark test

worst case, use ddu to wipe the drivers and settings in save mode, then reinstall the drivers again

Well, if you reinstall windows instead of just using system restore to the point before your experiments, that's what you get. And if all you learned from this is to blame others instead of your actions, you'll get hit again and again in the future.
Should of backed up your games before reinstalling windows. In fact you should be backing up your files at least once a month in case something happens.

Gonna have to agree with Hawkens on this, user error and ignorance.

If you don't know what a setting does, READ it. If not clear, RESEARCH it.

This is sort of what I was suspecting, but I'm not familiar enough with whatever "RTX video enhancement is" to know for sure (I presumed "super resolution" was DSR, though).

Just wipe out everything Nvidia using DDU app while in safe mode. The reboot and install latest Game Ready gpu driver from nvidia.com
DeadBeat Mar 12, 2023 @ 9:44pm
It has nothing to do with gaming it's for enhancing videos on chrome and edge.
