Have you tried disabling antivirus (I assume this won't help)?
How are your steam library folder settings looking like?
How is that drive formatted?
How exactly are they connected onto your motherboard as far as which sata ports they are each connected to?
use restart to for a clean boot, or disable hibernate
Secondary drive has nothing on it besides the game file i was able to download from Gamepass
2. I'm not aware of steam library folder settings i just created a folder via steam on the second drive
3.Drive is formatted in GPT
4. I've alternated all sata cables from ports 2-5 and it has no relation to the problem and still occurs
Do you have both of these gaming platforms (or two of any other gaming platforms) running at the same time? Have you tried only running Steam and shutting down the other ones?
Might be interfering software. I'd look into it. I wouldn't be surprised if you respond with "there is nothing else running on my pc" certainty, but I'd still look into it. A lot of people who say that aren't entirely correct.
is it listed? you can make a new library for it there, and install games or move them to it
I do not only the primary application that I'm downloading from.
Yes it is listed there, I have attempted to transfer steam games from my primary drive to secondary drive ( faulty drive) and it will disappear.
"A game running with user level privileges does not have the permissions required to detach storage. It's likely the other way around, your SSD drops and then the game crashes."
Possibly it is the SSD causing Steam to crash and not the other way around. I'm still researching even though you are pretty sure there's nothing wrong with the SSD.
If you changed the download location to that same 500 GB drive only for this game, does it still crash?
