But if it gets too annoying, you can try this driver--it's not too far off the latest.
I don't even have the tray icon now that I'm looking for it. I'm just going to try re-installing these drivers and see if it fixes anything.
Try re-installing the drivers but do a clean install?
The control panel is always there for me. The issue is that sometimes clicking on it doesn't do anything. It doesn't register as actually opening anything at all. Only after restarting the Nvidia Container Service LS does it actually register clicking on it. When I recently installed this one, I had already chosen to do it as a clean install. I wanted to get rid of any driver corruption from my previous driver.
Yeah, I know what you're saying. I had the same exact problem just now before I re-installed/updated drivers and that's why I thought I had the same exact driver version as you and same exact bug.
I would try to open control panel and it wasn't opening at all. I closed it in task manager and then I opening control panel would work but that's what it took.
Did you block it from the internet btw when you did the installation? I blocked it for the most part except for the nvidia update.exe one time and that was it. It's all blocked at this point though.
Not sure if that connection made the difference.
But I do have the same driver version (newest) and I am getting the control panel. Not sure if any other variables are causing the glitch though.
Security thing.
I know this is where someone might say "you don't trust Nvidia to connect, but you let them install stuff on your pc" kind of response.
lol
