2080 TI trying to use gsync through USB C to hdmi
I know there is an issue with getting g sync to work through a usb c connection. I keep seeing display port alternate mode mentioned but I dont really understand what that is. Articles say things like The short answer? Yes, USB-C is compatible with AMD FreeSync and Nvidia G-Sync. As is often true with USB, though, there's more to it than that blah blah blah blah

I am using an usb c to hdmi adapter with a g sync compatible display. Can someone either just let me know it will never work or how to change the settings to make it work?

The monitor must support Displayport Alternate Mode, not all do. Check specs of yours.

What Display do you have?

I have an LG C1 tv. I confirmed it wont work it says in the detailed descryption of the adapter that its not compatible with gsync despite a 48gbps bandwith

Im extremely happy with the result though I can now have 4k 120fps 12 bit color and hdr all at the same time. If i set the tv to game mode its basically as good as gysnc

if the fps is at or above the refresh rate you do not need gsync/freesync

^ If that is the scenario just go into NVIDIA CP
> set Vertical Sync = Fast
> set Low Latency = On
