Good GPU with solid cost-to-performance ratio?
I'm not looking to do anything crazy, just something that can run most high end AAA games at 120 fps at 1080p on high settings. I don't mind spending a little extra for something that's future proof as well. I briefly looked into some AMD cards (namely the RX 6700), but I've heard that a lot of games aren't optimized for AMD cards and so will run them worse than an equivalent Nvidia card.

You can get a 6700 xt for $350. At that price you can get a 3060. 6700 XT is better than a 3060 with the exception of some titles with ray tracing enabled.

Here are benchmarks from Hogwarts Legacy to give you an idea of what to expect for a modern game.

Well, looking at the HL benchmark, the RX 6700XT is about as good as the RTX 3070, and has the benefit of extra VRAM. It cost less than about the same as the RTX 3060. Even the RX 6600 XT outpaces the RTX 3060 in the game at 1080P. At 1440P, the RTX 3070 outpaces the RX 6700XT but the latter is still faster than the RTX3060.

When it comes to price/performance in rasterize gaming, AMD cards usually come out on top as nVidia cards are usually priced higher (for similar tier products)

RX 6700 XT or RTX 4070 Ti depending on budget. Mid-range RTX 3000 series are not that great option anymore with limited VRAM and still quite high price and high-end RTX 3000 series are completely pointless because they have way higher price then what they are worth.

Actually, some models of rtx3070Ti are more expensive than some rtx4070Ti, prob. owing in part to extra bling and other unnecessary stuff. Even a white card can be easily 100 USD more.

I used Amazon as a reference.

And you think NV doesnt?...

@OP dont let people scare ya on AMD, their drivers are not the boogie man people make them to be.

As for options, as mentioned the 6700/xt are great. I think in raw Bang:Buck the RX-6800 is hard to beat. It can be had on sales for as low as 480USD now days and is a very solid 1440P ultra and 4k mostly high settings card. I used one as a 4k daily driver for over a year.

Case in point:

$480 for top end-settings 1440p and high quality 4k/60.

Wh... what?

That first part is sounding like word salad.

You talk about AMD GPUs not boosting right at times, and I'm sitting here on an nVidia GPU that I had to set to "prefer maximum performance" for of the same reason.

I'll take "Reddit has a lot of problems, and I'm not here to be biased but just stating facts" and reply with "the internet has testimonies of problems with anything and everything if you look hard enough, so why are you focusing on one if you're not here to be partial"?

Nice job, man. Gone like he was never here.

I have seen issues with AMD GPU models not properly boosting the clock core past the base clock. Easy fix, just manually set it where it should be in the AMD app. But, there are constant issues coming from AMD, especially with updates which AMD has stated themselves NEVER to UPDATE the hardware when it is running fine to prevent issues. Look on Reddit and you will see plenty of AMD GPU issues. But I am not here to seek popularity assurance, I am simply here to state the facts.

As said... What?...

Difference of $30 after MiR.

The 3070ti will be wrecked. Even in RT it would be a fairly even match, but in anything non-RT its not even a contest.

There is literally zero reason to suggest a 3070ti right now unless the person specifically needs to run CUDA to make money.
