Valve tried stationary models, they were called Steam Machines. Calling them a colossal failure would be an understatement.
The SteamDeck does well because it is a handheld device, a niche market. Competing with already available laptops and desktop machines will put Valve at a massive disadvantage.
And if you want to use Windows, buy a proper laptop.
And the Steam Machines were not by valve, they were just mini PCs from china with a steam sticker. Besides, Steam OS back then was nowhere near to what it is today.
They make money by selling the Deck for 400. They would make money selling a PC without display and battery for 400 too. What are you takling about?
I had chinese mini PC before. Usually they are quiet noisy, plus idle desktop power consumption of the Deck is awesome, I doubt Beelink will get anywhere near that.
I am looking for the opposite of portable.
