Intel onboard GPUs are out of the question. Minimum for suitable FPS is GTX 980 / 1060 6GB / RX 570/580

Nope

Compare it to minimum requirement and it's over 100% weaker and that's for 720p low settings at 30fps

EDIT: Even your CPU is below minimum requirements

iris Xe is not bad, it's 4 times more powerful than the old intel UHD graphics which came out up to 10th gen CPUs. I don't know about this particular game Hogwarts Legacy, but I haven't seen any game which doesn't work with iris Xe, it can run RDR2 and Cyberpunk on Low-medium settings 720p 30fps.

I suggest you to buy and try it, if it doesn't work, you can always refund it, as long as you are inside 2 hours playtime.

general rule for intel gpus, stick to games about 10 years older than the gpu for decent performance

There is no such general rule, intel is now making dedicated GPUs as well, Arc a750 is as powerful as rtx 3060 and costs $250 at the moment (newegg).

Iris Xe is just a low-powered integrated version of the advanced architecture, which was released 2020. It's more powerful than AMD's top integrated GPU Vega 11, and slightly slower than apple M1 8-core graphics.

Lol, just teasing.
General rule is don't even think about running games if all you have is Intel Onboard GPU.

Better yet, stop buying crap that only has that and has no dedicated AMD or NVIDIA GPU.
That's with pretty much any DX11/DX12/Vulkan game on an Onboard Intel GPU.
Especially ones older then UHD 600 series.

The OP needs to be realistic. Your hardware is ancient, not suitable for most games that really needs a Radeon/Vega or Geforce GTX/RTX GPU.

Yeah. I was surprised it got that much.

The OP in that thread was on a Surface Pro with the i7 variant.

Are all these notebooks?

:qr:
Intel Iris is as that was exclusive to Laptops/Tablets

While it is better then the highly outdated Intel HD 4000 series, it's still fairly terrible at best.

Where as Intel UHD 600 series actually can run games not too bad. Like GTAV @ 1080p above 30 FPS.
Intel UHD 730 Graphics at 5:01.

Ok and how does that help anyone?
