Is 88C(190f) normal for a 3060 ti?
I have the gigabyte eagle version of the card and it has 2 fans on it. i was recently playing hogwards legacy when i noticed my gpu temperature was reaching 90 degrees C and was wondering is this normal and if its not what should i do about it?

Gigabyte Eagle cards run hot. They are the bottom of the barrel for low end everything.

:qr:
So does that mean i cant do anything?

You can try to mitigate the issues.

More airflow in the case. Set a more aggressive fan curve. Lower clock and voltage.

But yeah, those cards are just bad. Cheap but bad.

yes its normal if you plug and play,if you want optimal temperatures you need set your fan speed at 40% then at 40c jump straight to 85-90% fan speed some where around there they should be fast enough to get full cooling without a lot of noise.you should then see temps around 55-65c(hopefully) at 100%.easier to keep cool than cool down.given your case allows the air to escape.should look like this
(using MSI afterburner)ps.. its not a bad card enjoy

You don't need the fan speed that high until maybe 60+ *C and on most GPUs, 60--80% fan speed is more then enough

To update you guys on my situation i ended up opening my case and turning on dlss on most of my games and also i put on an fps limit between 60 and 75 on most of my games and now my temperature reads between 70-80 while im gaming this should help me out until i change my case thank you all for your help

Good, sure some ppl here can throw some recommendations on cases that have good cooling ability.
Are there just certain games you have the temp go this high?

How hot does it get when you do a full run of 3dmark or Unigine Superposition?

Sounds like what you really need is...

> new paste (check for missing thermal pads too)

> better case and/or case airow

> customize the gpu fan curve with MSI Afterburner. Once you make your changes, save to a profile# and apply it. Then enable Start With Windows, Auto Minimize on Startup and also OC at Startup so your applied profile you apply after the fan curve changes can be auto applied each OS Startup

well i tried running fur mark and the temp gets stuck on 90C
FurMark is not realistic at all.
Use something else.

Many Games you might own may have an in-game benchmark as well.

But if one was to ask my professional opinion; something is seriously wrong with your overall cooling or the GPU itself if it's going above 80-85*C

i tied it in bunch of games and the problem is that if i dont put on an fps limit its going to hit 85-90C after a while
dont know if you need this? but mines the gigabyte 3080ti,i had to install aorus engine for it to run properly or it would get too hot for my likeings.

Alright i try that as soon as i get home and also what mode do you use in that app? i think there are 3 modes that you can set your graphics card to

i dont use semi passive.have fans on full. think mine starts at 30-40% fan speed then at 40 degrees(jus b4 it gets noisey)? fan curve goes to 80 degrees/full speed.if that makes sense.i didnt read it no-where on the box about aorus engine.was googleing things like msi afterburner thought there must be sumthing simular for gigabyte.gl..i dont oc £1000 is alot of money to me,dont wana cook my gpu

Download and install MSI afterburner and setup a custom GPU fan curves. You can also undervolt the gpu as well, you won't lose performance and your gpu won't be as hot as it is.

Yeah i changed the fan curve and under volted the gpu and now i get the same amount of fps but my temps are between 65C-75C so thank you

None of these GPUs requires anything extra, aside from just the Driver from NVIDIA.
GFE is optional.
MSI Afterburner or other branded apps like it are optional.

Again I would edit the default fan curve. The default fan curve on basically all GPUs are terrible.

I changed the default fan curve but unfortunately that just wasn't enough so i under volted the gpu by 100 mv and everything seems to be fine now but I will update you if anything happens
