[BUG] (Nyxi) Joy Cons Not Recognized or Detected on Steam

Hey folks, is anyone else experiencing this behavior? My Nyxi joy cons used to work on Steam connected via bluetooth or wired. But my joy cons are no longer detected. I went on gamepad tester dot com and that site recognizes the sticks and button presses.

Did an update a couple months ago broke Joy Con support or is it just me?

Try switching to Steam Beta and see if that fixes it.

Steam Client > Settings > Acount > Opt-in

Already did. Still didn't work. Seems to affect Binbok joycons from my search on Steam forums.

Were you already opt'ed into the Beta?
Maybe opt-out to go back to Steam public (stable) version and see if that helps.

Yup, already did that too. It's definitely a Steam bug, probably just affects off-brand joycons like my Nyxi or Binbok. I've already tested my joycons and they work fine in gamepad test dot com and ReWASD.

I remember this bug started happening like late 2022 and Steam keeps disconnecting the joycons. It's fine and stable when I use ReWASD now.

I feel like this should be reported to the devs, but I don't know where or how.

Sometimes when Steam Client updates, it's possible it just has a blank config for your controller now. Try connection your Joycons, launch Steam Client, launch Big Picture Mode, launch the game, then switch to the BPM Overlay once you reach the in-game main-menu and see if you can (from the BPM Overlay) select a new default controller config for the Joycons.

I've already done all of that.

For setting a new default controller config for the joycons, I can't since they're not detected at all.

I've just reported it on Steam Beta Client group. I hope the devs see it.

Only way for us to know it's a "me" problem is if you have a Nyxi/Binbok joycon yourself and test it and it's working for you. Do you have these off-brand joycons?

Same for me, the controller pairs with the steam deck but there is no input... anyone have a fix?

I just received the hyperion pro and its the same - pairs but not detected

Yea I bought the nyxi hyperion pro and it does the same thing if you put the controller down and it goes into sleep mode 3 to 4 times it will disconnect steam wouldn't recognize them and the only fix I found is to unpair an repair via Bluetooth with steam being open...hope this help you or someone else.

Do you have software for it ? If yes, disable steam controller function, use the given software.
If no just calibrate in windows and run without, enable in game.

I would like to know if you solved your problem and if so, does the gyroscope also work for you?

What version of the Nyxi Hyperion Pro do you have? And two more questions, have you tried it other than with the Steam Deck, that is, on a PC? And if so, does the Hyperion's gyroscope work?
