Wait for 4080ti?
Do you think buying a new whole PC with a 4080TI be worth the upgrade from a 2080ti when it comes along with latest 32GB ram etc.

Yes i no its not out yet just asking and getting ready.

I mean you do you, but at some point you have to ignore the future and settle on what's available when you actually factually want to buy.
Not that I'm disagreeing with you because it's too long to wait for either way. But are you sure you don't have your years mixed up? July of next year would be shortly before the next generation is expected to start releasing and that's far later than I would expect, unless nVidia shifts to three year generation cycles or something. I would have thought later this year would be the more expected time for it, especially with how nVidia left an unheard of performance gap between the RTX 4080 and RTX 4090. Maybe you meant this upcoming July, which would make some sense. That would be the two year point from the release of the RTX 30 series Ti cards too.

Better to buy what is available now, cause nobody can predict the future.
Rtx 4080 is $1200, the Ti will be obviously few hundreds dollars more pricey.

If you are ready to spend that kinds of amount, why not just buy the 4090, which is readily available now and priced good for its performance.

That wholly depends on whether you want ray tracing or not.If you're not bothered about ray tracing then an AMD card may serve you better, as a lot of their newer cards have been doing well on pure raster performance compared to Nvidia cards, usually at a lower price point too.

Yeah, that's why I was asking. I wanted to be sure.

it would be a massive improvement.everyone who doesnt have money will tell
you its not worth it.but yet will spend 2000 dollars on rims that make no difference
on a car.drink at bars every fri sat nite eat fast food and at restaurants.that cost a small fortune. spend 10.00 a day on a pack of cigs
drink and smoke pot 7 days a week and shovel their face full of Cheetos and 2ltrs of soda.
but spend 1200-1800 on a card that will last 2-4 years and thats crazy...OK
theres a million worse ways you could spend that money GO FOR IT !!!
dont settle get what you want or regret it later.you get 52 paychecks a year is 2 to 4 paychecks not worth 2-4 years of high end quality gaming if not then stay where your at.

Wait for 5060 Ti.

If the trend holds, it should be equivalent to a theoretical 4080 Super.

Right? My 3060 TI is equivalent to a 2080 Super. Therefore...

I have 2080Ti as well with new build at the time (i9-9900K).

I prefered my main PC is stronger than consoles (PS5,XBX). I think 2080Ti is still stronger than PS5/XBX.

So when PS5Pro comes out may be in 1-3 years, I think it is the time to buy new GPU for my case.

If i was going to buy 1 i would buy a whole new PC. Ive had this over 3 years on constantly and can here the CPU fan vibrating and PSU full of dust any way. I clean inside box as much as i can but things like PSU i dont. I always think if i buy a new card or something not that much time something else will break or it will bottle neck this and that.

How much do you think the RTX 4080 Ti would go for? 1400USD? 1500USD? It certainly won't be 1300USD because it'd kill the sale of the RTX 4080 at 1200USD.

Now, at 1.4k - 1.5k, might as well pony up for an RTX 4090 FE at 1.6k USD...so, why wait? Get the RTX 4090 instead
