Upgrading PC / Computer guys chime in please
So I have a question about my PC and the games I play. Ive recent bought Mount and blade 2, Squad, Arma 3, and War of rights. Seems like they are run like kinda crap at high settings and even low settings.

My specs are:

AMD Radeon RX 5500 4gb

AMD Ryzen 5 5600G

8GB ram

Is the problem maybe I just need more RAM like 32bg? Would that drastically improve my performance? Cause I know 8gb isnt much

1. War of rights is an EA title so performance will be hit or miss even if your system is well above requirements listed

As for ram 16 GB is often recommended, your 8 may be limiting your performance as its recommended for the minimum requirements of those games.

If you were modding alot, Skyrim, and stuff or have some of the latest games at max at higher resolutions you'd benefit from 32GB but you'd need a better GPU before you'll see any benefits above 16GB. So for now I'd say go for 16GB.

Ok putting ram in is pretty straight forward right? Like just slap it in and im good? do i need to perform and updates after i put it in or change anything?
i d get another 8GB RAM stick and something like RX 6600 XT .

i am using 16GB RAM ,at 1080p and it s great . Recently finished Guardians of The Galaxy .

Your system seems a little weak all around and not sure if any single thing would help.

If you can be more specific maybe about performance like mention your fps and resolution, maybe someone can let you know of if your system is performing on par with similar systems. If your cpu/gpu are at their max potential I doubt more ram would help.

Also the answer to your question of 32gb ram giving you much more performance should be pretty much "no".

Upgrading to 16 might get you a little bit if ram is slowing you down but if logically ram added that much more performance boost everyone would have 32gb or even 64 gb of ram.

Ideally you want a 2x8GB Kit as that ensure compatibility so no weird stuff. Not to say you can't just put a single 8GB stick in and have it work, just not recommended as issues may arise.

If you decide to try adding a single stick try to get one with the same speed and latency. Mhz and CL. I you get one faster it will run and the current sticks speeds.

Think 3600Mhz CL16 is the normal speeds to go for with AMD nowadays. You want DDR4.

As for installing its pretty straight forward. Identify the socket/s you'll be using. You want to use A1 and B1 or A2 and B2 to have them run in dual channel. Motherboard manual will say or if you provide you motherboard model we can point out.
To install pay attention to the socket and the module. more pins on one end so make sure you line them up else it won't fit. When ready push a plastic clip on the socket and then slot the stick in until it clicks. Then enter Bios to enable XMP.....Thats Intel, AMD calls it DOCP I think?

Plenty of youtube videos if you need em.

If you have more cash then a better GPU would add more of an improvement than increasing the RAM will.

I have to enable dual channel? I wont just recognize it once I start it up?
The PC will enable dual channel automatically if possible , just make sure all timings match .

So do I have to do any of the steps that guy said?
1 check all timengs of your RAM stick , guess it s just 1x8
2. Find another with the same timings in an online shop and order
3. pull/press the bracket of the memory slot , push the new stick in
//4. start the PC , enter BIOS enable XMP , to OC the RAM

edit
if only 2 mem slots are available , no issue . if 4 slots , put the new stick into the second next slot .

Upon PC start press F2 or Del , depends on the mobo , in order to enter BIOS . Search for advanced settings to enable XMP profile of the memory - manufacturer garantees this overclocking will run fine . Read the mobo manual

XMP means Extreme Memory Profile , term introduced by Intel .When you put a RAM stick , it usually defaults to one JEDEC frequency (standards) 2400/2133MHZ for DDR4 . If you want to use the full potential of the RAM stick you must enable one of the XMP profiles , for instance 3200MHz or 3600MHz . If you post the mobo brand and model , we may assist further .

G.Skill Trident Z RGB Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin SDRAM (PC4-25600) DDR4 3200 CL16-18-18-38 1.35V Dual Channel Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16D-32GTZR

something like this is what im thinking of getting

so once i enable of these profiles then what? i literally know none of these terms lol might was well be speaking a foreign language to me lol. I do want your assistance on this though please because I really need to upgrade my ram and get it full potential
If the mobo supports 3200MHz , the RAM will run at 3200MHz (1600MHz is the real speed)

you dont need 32GB for gaming at 1080p, 16GB is enough
