Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) Candlelight Color Flicker (fixed for me)
Hello,

I own an LG C1 and C2. Both have the candlelight flicker when gaming and using VRR. When turning VRR off it goes away, but that's not what we want, right?

Get ready for this as some will balk and say bs. Turning VSync on within Nvidia Control Panel -> 3D settings (for your game) is what fixed this for me. Why would I do this?

I searched and found an article from Blurbusters which illustrates exactly why VRR is not the end game, and you should also have VSync turned on within NCP (but off within game obviously). The article has the word WHY as a hyperlink that explains exactly why you need VSync turned on in NCP with VRR. This was the missing piece and now I can enjoy any game, flicker free, with zero screen tear and high quality fast movement visual quality.

Across these links, you will see various TV settings for LG Oleds, but most manufactures have similar settings. Color/Brightness/Contrast/Tint etc is one thing, but there are a plethora of other settings that are common (albeit with different nomenclature) across manufacturers that you should consider setting.

The settings I am using on my TV and NCP are based on the Linus Tech Tips article, but there is a guy on youtube I believe the user is ClassyTech who I used his settings first which are pretty much the same. By ensuring my TV settings (for things other than the picture mentioned before) and NCP matched (again, I was only missing VSync on within NCP 3D Settings along with Scaling off but that didn't do anything), this was what gave me what I purchased. Use the BlurBusters and Linus Tech Tips links as a starting ground.
