Monitor suggestions - 4K G-Sync PC&PS5

Hi all, I'm looking for a new monitor to use for PC gaming and also PS5, but not sure if there is an ideal monitor for this which fully supports all features including G-Sync and HDMI 2.1.

Does anyone have any recommendations, and have any of you had any success using a monitor with a PS5 using VRR?

Are there any monitors that include the G-Sync processor and also support HDMI 2.1?

They are all overpriced junk compared to the £899 LG C2 OLED. Look for a tv not a monitor.

Firstly, what graphics card do you have on the PC?
Is it a Nvidia RTX 4090 to fully juice 4K + HDR with G-SYNC at 120Hz?

G-Sync modules use the DisplayPort 1.4, so you won't find any coming with HDMI 2.1 as of yet. Rather it would likely be FreeSync, which G-SYNC can support anyways via cable, just not as well as the real G-SYNC module builtin to a monitor. G-SYNC can work for HDMI 2.1, when using a RTX 30xx series or higher graphic cards. Syncing VRR as the PS5 does too.

Install the latest drivers and firmware. Use a HDMI 2.1 48Gbps cable. Turn on HDMI 2.1 Support, HDMI 2.1 VRR support and G-SYNC on your display. Right-click the desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel. Head to Display > Set up G-SYNC. Now, tick G-SYNC, G-SYNC Compatible and adjust your resolution and frame rate accordingly. For G-SYNC over HDMI to work, the card needs to support the latest HDMI 2.1 standard.

Note: If you are getting an 4K monitor, I assume you have a very high-end graphics card to juice it. You should want 27 inch minimum screen size. You also want real HDR10 (not VISA HDR below 1000), low input lag, low response time (< 5ms) and high refresh rate (120Hz+) with your G-SYNC Ultimate (ultimate supports 4K + HDR) module builtin. Those monitor might have a mini fan builtin to cool the G-SYNC module, this can become loose and loud in some models (such as the Acer Predator X27), so keep an eye out for that issue. Other than that, it's sweet eye candy!

Thanks for the advice, I'm looking at building a new PC at some point this year so will make sure it has the performance needed. I also want something that will work well with PS5, but I haven't bought that yet either so am not in a rush, so will probably wait and see what new monitors come out this year :)

I wouldn't want anything that's only G-Sync "compatible" due to the minimum fps of 48 - I mostly play single player games so would be happy with fps lower than that as long as there's no tearing.

I looked through that the other day, not sure if they keep it up-to-date with new monitors but it's useful to see the minimum framerates. As far as I know there isn't anything in the G-Sync & G-Sync Ultimate sections that supports HDMI 2.1 (yet).

Edit - this is actually from a year ago, maybe this monitor was cancelled.

Looks like we might have a ROG monitor coming soon with all of these features -

I can't see any info about the HDMI bandwidth but will wait and see what other info comes out. Looks like it could be really expensive though because it's an update to the PG32UQX.
