SSD, Windows or just games?
I brought SSD hard drive for just gaming the games like Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
Booting a windows faster is not a big deal for me but i wonder if i need to have my windows on SSD for gaming or not, i mean do i really need to have a windows on SSD to load a textures faster and etc or if i only install a games on SSD it will work.also i'm asking it because as far as i know SSD have a shorter life than HDD so i want to get less works from it as much as its possible.

another question is should i backup my games to install again in a case of changing a windows or can i keep my games on my hard and after installing a windows make the Steam to recognize and find that games on my hard drive.

windows or os is a must on the ssd

depends on the game

most sp games dont mind on a hdd, load times will be slightly longer

open world or mmo or games you want to load fast should go on the ssd

ssd does have limited writes, but its way beyond what normal use will do in 10+ years

You didnt mention anything in detail . How many GB is the ssd ! i How much RAM does the PC have ! i d install Windows on the ssd and some games as well . Keep in mind Windows uses a pagefile which is where the OS is installed , usually . The whole hdd keep for games , video , family photos . No need to partition the ssd .

Dont forget to use the backup function of Steam . Dont do like me . i uninstalled Steam and all my games were gone /uninstalled . LOL .

oho , you ve got a fast PC. So, enough space to store several games on the ssd . 16GB RAM ease the disk operations , which is good .

most mmo are open world, and with lots of random chars/models/skins etc.. loading all the time
ssd will prevent stuttering while loading those

i use nvme for windows, extra ssd for the games i play most and a 2tb hdd for the rest (data and some games i play occasionally)

Get a cheap 128-256 GB SATA SSD and put your OS on it. It will be a 20 bucks investment and accompany you for a long time. Windows alone doesn't do much writing and as long as you keep it clean the lifetime will not be an issue. And in case you have to troubleshoot you can easily flatten the OS drive while the rest is unaffected.

@nullable
Thanks for great advice with a little bit of humiliation spice :))
I assembled my second PC with my own hands around 20 years ago, my first PC wasn't even the Pentium yet i had a no knowledge about SSD but thanks to you and the others here i have a little bit now.

ssd's are cheap just get one for windows like big drive and another if still need more space for games, make sure it has high write endurance specially on windows boot drive bigger is better usually but most of all just enjoy the performance ssd's have gotten a lot cheaper over the years only gonna get cheaper.
In general. I would ALWAYS recommend installing your OS on an SSD.
Especially since the OS includes many important files which will be read a LOT.
