Driver Issue? NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060
Driver isn't running games- Witchy Life Story- Disney Dreamlight Avatar Demo. Runs Stardew Valley fine. Games started working a bit better when I disabled the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Driver, but not completely (EDIT: did not uninstall). What gives?

EDIT:

Sorry y'all- I'm a big noob to Windows world and understanding OS/GPUs in general. I suppose I should clarify the question. Thanks for helping <3 :)

I am assuming that this is a driver issue, as I'm way beyond minimum spec requirements and from my understanding I should be able to play the games I'm wanting to play no problem. Reason I was assuming it was a driver problem was because the games ran a tad bit better (not by much though).

TL;DR- How would I know for sure whether its a driver issue or something else?

Specs:
MSI MS-16K2 Laptop

CPU: Intel Core

i7-6700 HQ
- RAM: 16 GB
-Storage: 500 GB SSD & 1 TB SSD
-GPU: GTX 1060

Same gpu works great. Run it with game ready drivers only from Nvidia.
How much Vram? Mine runs with 6 gig Vram.
Run DDU to remove all traces and clean install latest drivers

you disable the driver... yeah, it's not gonna play games..

anyways use DDU to completely remove the driver
link: https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

then install the most recent Nvidia driver for the mobile gtx 1060M
Link : https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/197461/en-us/

after this is should work as it used to

this doesn't matter at all. Every gtx 1060M driver works with ether the 3gb or the 6gb version
same does with desktop but you'd download the non "netbook" driver instead

Make sure in NVidia Control Panel , Manage 3D Settings->Global Settings - Preferred Graphics Processor is set to auto .

its a laptop

make sure its plugged in and fully charged
many will disable the dedicated gpu when battery is low or its in power save modes

and get the igpu driver from the laptop mfg site
and mobile nvidia driver from nvidia

though, you really should have linked
like the support page.... not trying to be mean to OP
but he disabled the driver through the control panel
and assumed that meant he uninstalled it

-You are correct, I disabled it through the control panel. Didn't uninstall anything.
Control panel? Where? Was this in the device manager?

Disabling something in the device manager should disable the device from being usable at all. If you disabled the GTX 1060 in device manager, then what is likely occurring is the PC is now using the Intel IGP of the CPU. I'm not sure why you'd want to do that unless either the GTX 1060 is faulty or has a heating problem you can't fix. The Intel IGP is far slower.

Your initial post doesn't exactly describe what your original problem was. It just states "a driver isn't running games"? Would need to know what exact behaviors from what games to advise on that, but my first recommendation would be to uninstall and reinstall the nVidia drivers.
