PS4 Controller not being detected on Windows 10
Hello all, I am having trouble getting my PS4 controllers to be detected on Windows 10. My USB ports are free of dirt, I am using a cable that both charges and does data transfer, I have tried different cables, I have tried using different USB ports, and yes I have turned everything off and then on again.

The controller just straight up isn't being detected on Windows, as it does not appear on my devices list, nor do I get any sort of alert or vibration that the device is detected. Has anyone else had this issue? I was told that I only the Micro-USB cable that came with the PS4 would work.

check device manager and joy.cpl

USBDeview helps in some cases.
As I checked now DualShock 4 is taking 500mA power.

So if you have USB hub in middle of the connection with other device used, it may get short on power supply.

For testing for like this device, connecting to mother board port (PC's back panel port) is most stable.

The PS4 gamepad isn't really detected by Windows10 by default.
It might detect a gamepad if you use a Micro-USB cable that handles data transfer because there are some that only power the device.

If you want true detection of the PS4 gamepad on Windows you need the original DS4 Bluetooth adapter which could go anywhere from $20 to $100.

That one. But do look for another buyer because $80 is not worth it as you could just get a PS5 gamepad instead.

Steam will detect the PS4 gamepad with the Micro USB cable at least.

Latest Win10 has support, without need for extras. Updated?

Bluetooth works too, however, you have to ADD the device first, and select a 'Bluetooth' Device

WIN + I -> Settings -> Devices

(Put contrller in to Pairing mode: press and holding the SHARE button, press and hold the PS Button until the light bar flashes.)

Ensure Bluetooth is 'on'
Click the + "Add Bluetooth or other device"
Add Device 'Bluetooth - mice, Keyboard.. etc' [NB! NOT THE Xbox controllers etc Option]
Select the Controller - Might be just 'Wireless Controller'
If passcode required: 0000
