but steam does not just download and dump like speedtests do
it downloads, unpacks, copies, files at the same time
if the disk line on the download graph is high, thats the limiting factor
if Windows is doing maintenance right now , could happen .
I would NOT trust the software on those pre-built PCs. They come with junk like ant-virus and game boosters and other worthless shovelware. You need to reformat and install windows the way it was meant to be - bloat-free!
You want the ssd with ONLY windows and programs on it. Then you want bulk storage for games and apps. This way if something ever happens to windows where it needs a reinstall you don't lose your bulk data.
Just drivers and latest bios update!
