Open box ASUS NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 TUF
Should I buy it? It's an open box at microcenter for 1,259.00 I know the 4080's are overpriced but who knows if the price will go down anytime soon and I want to have the best for ray tracing and streaming.

I wouldn't. I live very close to a Microcenter also and their price are not that attractive. Definitely better than anywhere else, but still not great. Wait until the AMD 7000 gpus come out. It's not long.

ASUS cards this gen and last had the worst coil whine. So many YT reviews show the Strix and the TUF cards with bad coil whine. ASUS quality has really gone down hill. Hopefully you get a good one, but if stuff like bothers you I'd avoid their cards.

Must have been lucky with my 3070Ti then. No coil whine at all, no perceptible one and i'm pretty sensitive to such things. I easily get annoyed by unwanted sounds.

I picked up an msi ventus 4080. There was quite a few of them there, I hope that wasn't a sign lol

Generally the 4080 sells poorly. Too expensive for most.
So don't read too much into it.

Even the scalpers can't get rid of their stock.
