Does anyone know what's up with the very cheap Readeon RX580, 8G video cards ?

Do any of you video card experts know how or why you can get one of these RX 580 video cards for between 79.99 to 125.00 dollars at Amazon or newegg? All cards have the same setup. RX 580 chip set, with 8G GDR 5 RAM and a 256 bit bus. That's right, a 256 bit bus. There seems to be no difference between the 79.00 dollar cards and the 125.00 dollar cards other than maybe clever shopping. I noticed other 580's with GDR 6 RAM for over 500.00 dollars but everything else is the same as the cheaper cards including the 256 bit bus. I am asking because none of the cheap cards have reviews at either site, newegg or Amazon. Should I take a chance? Your thoughts please.

Probably castoff mining cards. 580's were popular for it for a while due to cheap entry price.

I don't know much about this card at all but I checked Micro Center which is an ethical retailer and they only had one model in stock (Power Color) at 150 USD.

There are fakes out there with the firmware flashed to mimic the real thing. Don't know if that's what you're seeing but 80 USD seems suspiciously cheap. The small app GPU-Z from TechPowerUp can usually determine a fake card. If there's no money back guarantee, keep walking.

Yes you might be right but your not going to get a smaller 128 bit bus 1060 for 79.00 dollars, if you can find one, and those cards are at least the same age or older. It's still a great deal right?

I 100 percent agree with you and that's why I am asking. So here is a what if question, what if I took the 79.00 dollar plunge? I can always return it if it is not what is advertised. I can review it to help others not sure.

How come you're putting emphasis on the bus width? That's just a variable that adds up to end performance. The end performance itself should be what matters.

Also the GTX 1060 is 192-bit. It should be roughly comparable(ish) the the RX 580, but the latter is typically a bit faster (especially in many newer/DirectX 12 titles to my understanding), and have 2 GB more VRAM. It will use quite a bit more power and likely run warmer/louder, though. Overall, $80 for either seems like it would be a rather fair deal to me, presuming they aren't fake/mistreated. The RX 580 was a very popular mining GPU so I would wonder if many of the ones you're seeing for such a price came from such a background.

I got my xfx rx 580 gb gts xxx oc+ for $120 and then they went up to $400+ so idk it works im keeping it.

I went from an RX 580 typical Dual Fan to 1660 Super Single Fan that was a night and day difference, the RX 580 typically ran in the 80c+ even with aggressive fan curve, it kept me warm and cozy during winter since my PC is on the desk. At least that Extra 185w as space heater helped.

But no one think about how much settings does on cpu/ graph card, better learn settings on windows and gpu controlpanel, when u buy deluxe components people dont use half power or waste it;p a tip turn off all energy savings settings in bios and use turbo without overclock:), power setting windows on ”high” video settings windows - ”gamename” - performance , only those settings u get few fps + , but i had not bought new cpu if i was him who is that old, better upgrade motherboard + cpu , what games u play?

And 1650 have many diffrent ;p and it take more than 75w i guess on high use,
