Razer Tiamat 2.2 Mic issue
I got a razer tiamat 2.2 recently but for some reason the voice detection on the microphone is so bad i have to eat the mic so that it would detect my voice. I tried increasing the volume in the sounds control panel but that doesnt help.

Any ideas? any good help is much appreciated :steamsad:

My friend bought a Razer headset (Chimaera? Can't recall the name) and he also got the same issue. He shouted super loud into his mic and we could barely hear him. I also saw numerous mic complaints with other Razer headsets, like mic picking up speaker sound, volume extremely small, etc. I personally use a lot of Razer products other than headsets and I got 3 defected products out of 5 products.

I'm not an audiophile or a computer expert so I can't really say much other than you got a defected product. Razer is well-known for its high amount of defected products since it has a poor quality control. For now, I think you should try third party microphone softwares to boost its volume and contact Razer Support (well known to be not helpful and slow). If it fails, I think you should start the replacement process.

Hope it helps!

Thanks for your help, really appreciated! I just forgot to mention, the microphone seems to work well on a seperate laptop but not on mine. I do not understand why. I have tried to contact razer support but sending them like a complaint or something through their website. How long does it take them to reply? its been almost 2 days now.

I assume the issue I am facing is a software issue. I still do not understand what is it exactly. i tried looking for drivers since razer synapse is sometimes pure and utter crap, but i cannot find anything regarding drivers for this headset.

I am really lost and dissappointed.

Have you tried updating your sound card drivers?
Tried raising the Mic Volume within Windows sound settings or within Steam?
You say you have, but that should help with it..

Under Communications, do you have Do Nothing selected? not that it would be affected by it. but eh..

If it comes down to it, try a replacement or get something else if possible.

Well I got a problem with this same headset, it kept making a "buzz" noise through the mic, tried everything, even thought it was an electric issue with the power source...turns out, the mic is actually not really good. Headset sound is flawless nonetheless.
I replaced the Tiamat and bought a Hyperx Cloud Stinger (an entry level stereo headset, half the price) and problem solved. I'm raging quite a bit, could've saved some money. :steamsad:

This also happened to me. I had to eat the mic so it would recognize my voice. Then i saw i had my mic muted on the volume +/- controller on the headset :) Maybe this helps :)

Well who get eater products for sound quality in the first place? For the price you can get quality stuff from audio brands like Sennheiser, audio technica and Beyerdynamic.
