CCleaner and Advanced System Care are both good choices.

I agree about Ccleaner, but not Advanced System Care. I always found IObits software to be sketchy as heck.

I'll throw in another vote for CCleaner.
Spybot S&D also has some registry cleaning/fixing functionality.

This

ASC comes in more handy than just a registry cleaner though

I really wouldn't recommend using a registry cleaner, they can cause more problems than they fix most of the time. If you do, make sure before you delete anything that you create a backup.

FYI, thats mainly regarding that my clean pc bs that used to be advertised on TV

Dont compare that POS with things like CCleaner or ASC.

and ive never used the other ones listed on that site, nor do i know how accurate or legit that site is, so ehhh..

And guess what, that page is pretty much debunked now http://www.howtogeek.com/168528/htg-explains-do-you-really-need-to-regularly-reinstall-windows/ this is supposed to explain why pcs slow down over time

And yet they are promoting CCleaners startup manager, which as you know a registry cleaner is part of that program.

So basically, that site is full of hypocrites :)

ASC doesn't really do anything more useful or better than what CCleaner already has. I've reached this conclusion after having seen what the Pro version is 'supposed' to do after my dad has yielded to the constant blasting of its advertisements.

You are better off having just one simple yet efficient cleaning program. You don't need a dozen of them.

The Ads popping up can be avoided if you turn off/disable the updater

Ive been using ASC for years, muchhhh longer than ive been using CCleaner.

CCleaner is mostly a browser/registry cleaner
ASC is that and much more, and considering i have actual experience with it i believe i know better in this case than you do bro. CCleaner is essentially a slimmed down version of ASC that only does specific things. ASC does what CCleaner does and much more, as said above.

Besides, you can just install ASC, have it do the performance enhancements then uninstall it, and just use CCleaner for the other stuff.
Getting rid of "Open with" and uninstallers which doesn't work any longer because the programs doesn't exist is convenient factors I guess.

Though yeah, unlikely to make your computer any faster and worst case scenario something break.

Well its more than just that..

If something is trying to access data in the registry that is no longer valid for whatever reason, that can slow things down.

registry cleaners, the good ones atleast can help resolve such issues.
its more than just getting rid of invalid registry keys to shrink down the registry.

I have just about as much experience as you do with ASC, 'bro', and I say no to it.

Anyway, each to his own.

well i called u bro cuz ur on my FL lol, or were anyway, but i'm not sure about that as you werent able to tell your dad how to stop the Ads from popping up now n then, so yeah :)

Either way, they both have their strong points, but ASC does in fact have more to it than a registry and browser cleaner which essentially make up the whole program of CCleaner.

But yeah, to each their own.
