Monitor question

So I found out that my graphics card can support 4 monitors (Msi Gtx 960 4gb), but my motherboard box (Msi H97 Pc Mate) says that it has 3 display ports, so I'm wondering, would I be able to use 4 monitors off the graphics card?

the motherboard display ports have nothing to do with using 4 monitors on a gtx 960 so the motherboard box refers to using integrated graphics (no gtx 960).. yes you can use 4 monitors if the gpu says it can support 4 monitors

You can use maybe two 1080p monitors with GTX 960 without completely killing your fps and even that provided that only one of them is used for game.
It's not that powerful card and is best suited for just one 1080p monitor.

Thanks. Nvidia's page said that I could have up to 2-4 1080p monitors though, 3 for 4k.

Ofcourse you "can", if you are happy with your games running at low settings 5 fps.
To run three 1080p monitors properly for gaming you need GTX 980 Ti.

it will not run 3x in nv sourround and hold a good fps at any settings

you can run 1 primary for games and 3x accessory on the gpx 960
and you can also run 1-3 more accessory monitors on the mobos intel hd igp

Oh. Well, I don't know if you noticed or not, but I have the 4 Gb version, I read that you could run well on multiple displays if you have a decent amount of RAM, is that correct?

this is the correct answer regardless of 2gb or 4gb 960.. although he took "displayports" much too literally
