Is my bottleneck bad?
Hi, my dad recently gave me a Dell XPS 435T, it had a i7 920 @ 2.67 ghz. So I slapped a GTX 750 TI on there, and its been running well. While when I checked my CPU usage, it was around the 80s-90s in csgo max settings. While playing GTAV on lowest settings on 1080p is at 100% with an average of 48 FPS. I've tried overclocking but I didn't seem to find a single thing about overclocking or changing speed in my BIOS. So I really wanted to know if my bottleneck is really bad, and if so, should I get a new motherboard and maybe a new cpu to overclock? Thanks!

The 920 is an 8-year-old CPU after all and the latest games have been getting better at utilizing multi-core processing. If you believe your observation is correct, as in each core is in constant high loading while playing games, then it is time you consider upgrading.

Well I want to upgrade my motherboard, but I don't know a thing about my case.. What if I got a motherboard that can overclock the cpu? Either that or I'm going to buy a Pentium G3258 and try to attemp to overclock.

i currently run a i5 750 and the performance is very similar yet cs go never fills out my CPU. I OC my cpu lately as well. 2.67ghz to 3.6ghz. can't imagine you cant OC similarly - but i bought a cooler to be able to do so.
There should be people with the same cpu who overclocked it, I'm sure of it. just research on google

Don't think you can get a LGA1366 brand new in 2016 anymore. Even if you can it would mean the board is under storage for 8 years already.

In case you're at all serious about the upgrade for proper gaming, I'd suggest you at least go for a Haswell i5. Not that a Pentium G3258 won't work, but there's only so much you can do with a dual-core CPU for some time already.

Don't think you can get a LGA775 brand new in 2016 anymore. Even if you can it would mean the board is under storage for 8 years already.

Yea, thats true. But I'm pretty young and on a strict budget. Around 200$ max. Do you have any suggestions for a budget motherboard and CPU for my graphics card?

Dang! It must be fast. Some people that owns a computer shop, said that when you OC, if the tempature is under 90, you should be okay. You think thats true?
first gen i7 is a good cpu for gaming yet
easy overclocking in a good mobo with good ram

a buddy uses i7 950 oc'd to 3.8 with a gtx 970 and no bottlenecking

good guide here
http://www.overclock.net/t/538439/guide-to-overclocking-the-core-i7-920-or-930-to-4-0ghz

the gtx 750 is the weak point
the i7 920 at stock speeds is more than enough for it

No, CPU over 70C is definitely a bad sign. He may be talking about the GPU instead.
first gen i7 will throttle at 100c
80-90c is fine for it

The point is, do you really wanna put it to the test without a backup though?

Not to mention the product have been under usage for years.

As I said before, I can't overclock because of my motherboard :(

My CPU runs at 69C at max when it is doing hard work. Never reached 70. Is that bad?

That is fine, although it can be better.

No, i actually meant CPU cuz my graphics card is currently fried LOL. I researched that I shouldn't oc over 82C some sites say 90. I'd say below 80C is okay to clock your CPU my friend.

Once, on my old pc my pc would get so hot that my room can literally cook an egg.. (I actually tried it.)
