Videos are recorded with the settings that the user records things at. Therefore, what the user thinks is adequate sound levels may not be acceptable levels to others when they play it back. Sometimes they are too loud and sometimes they are too quiet.

Yea if the original recording was low-volume; not much u can do.
Wear headset/headphones or hookup external Speakers.
Laptop speakers always are rather low and crappy overall.

Also might help to go to Windows Playback Devices > Speakers > Properties > Enhancements and tick the boxes for:

- Equalizer (try the Rock or Powerful preset)
- Virtual Surround (this helps ensure all surround sound channels are played-back via a 2-channel config)
- Loudness Equalization (this can help boost overall volume on Laptop Speakers, or other weak speakers, like ones onboard a Monitor or HDTV.
