For example; having Win7 and then changing to do clean install or Win10?
You can copy files u wish to save over to another partition; but u have to be careful when u reinstall OS in that case, as you want to ensure the OS partition gets deleted. So if it's all on one drive, ensure the other data partitions don't get deleted.
Best bet is always use another physical drive to do that sort of thing; then prior to reinstalling OS, simply disconnect any extra drives, such as game drives or backup data drives.
Well, I'm planning to clean install Win10. They're all on one drive, should I just be careful or should I really get another external drive to keep things safe?
