Multi adapter setups with windows 10?
I heard that you could mix different GPUs with windows 10 and get them to work simultaneously. I have seen some Nvidia/AMD setups online that work but I was wondering how to do this and what combinations were possible. For example could I take my GTX 980ti and connect with my GTX 780 and get extra performance? Right now I am using my GTX 980ti as my main card and I put my old 780 as a PhysX card, but how can I get them to work in conjunction for extra performance?

Does anyone know?

Quite simply: the game has to support it, otherwise there's no way.
Ok I see but is there any articles online on how to do this? I mean I have a GTX 980ti and 780 in my system right now but Im not sure on how to get them in Pseudo SLI

780 was a strong card, but the 980ti will handle physx alot better than the 780
Actually no, and I don't want to get into this argument. I have run many benchmarks and ALL games that use physx run better with more fps with a main GPU and a dedicated Physx GPU. Thus my GTX 980ti with 780 physx I get higher fps than with just a 980ti or 980ti with CPu running physx, etc. Before I used my 780 with a 570 for physx, and I still got better fps than with just the 780. But anyway thats that, but my question was if I could use my 980ti in conjunction with the 780 to get better overall performance ala SLi. I have read that you can do that with windows 10 and dx12 but I wasnt sure how to set it up. Does anyone know how to do that?

And hey I wasnt trying to sound rude, but I know the PhysX argument, it is just that I did extensive benchmarking so I know that having a dedicated PhysX GPU is better than not having one, for games that use PhysX anyway, which is starting to get slim.

But like I said I can't seem to find a place that tells me how to run my 980ti and 780 together in sort of sli. I have seen AMD/Nvidia configs and some 980ti/TitanX configs but I don't really know where Im supposed to set that up. No where in the Nvidia control panel is there an option.

Obviously it just works for DX12 games or games that support it, but does anyone know where I go to set that up?
From a quick google: Have two or more GPU's in your system, turn on Async compute in the games settings.
Yea as far as I can tell from researching also is that first and foremost the game has to be DX12 as well as have the option for async multi-gpu config. So right now ashes of the singularity. So anyone know of any other games this might work with right now?
Yea I was just thinking of rise of the tombraider. Unfortunaty I don't have that game.

Btw, I was just wondering do you guys all think im stupid for using a dedicated Physx card? I mean when I got my 980ti I could have put a 460, 570, or 780 in for PhysX, but I gave the 570 to my dad and I didn't want to bottleneck with a 460 so eventhough its overkill I put the 780 in. Hey it works, sometimes its not much sometimes a lot but it does give a performance increase in PHysX games. So what do yout think?

If you're happy with it, you shouldn't care what we think.
single 980 Ti is all u need, that 780 is just loose/dead weight at this point, cut it free, it's not going to help the system/performance.
ok thanks guys....I am intrigued by asynchronous multi-gpu configurations though. But ill probably have to wait till more DX12 games come out. Maybe tomb raider might be worth picking up to test it.

If that case, then u need a GTX 1000 series or AMD RX 400 series.
I don't think you need a 10 series or 400 series gpu....they've done 980ti/furyx setup 980ti/titanx setup, 980/390 setup +etc and even intigrated graphics can come in on the action. It recognizes all the gpu power your system has and combines it with some pretty interesting results. Just google it. I assume a 980ti and 780 would work. Albeit we are talking DX12 and the games that support it. I was just thinking prematurely and thinking there would be a way to setup that up right now hardware wise. Its all on the software side and in the hands of developers. RIght now there is not a lot to test with.

But if you meant that 900 series has not performed well with DX12 that may be true. But again the sample data has not been out there we will have to see. However a 980ti still has enough juice to compare with AMDs best offerings with the few DX12 games there are, even against a rx 480 which is still just midgrade. OC'd to 25 - 30% a 980ti is an absolute boss, so if able to be coupled with a 780 or any GPU via async multi-gpu setup then maxwell's DX12 deficiencies may become null and void. Still wish the 980ti's would get down further in price so I can sli.
