Laptop display has a blue-ish hue after connecting a TV via HDMI to it.

Machine: Asus N751JX-T7070H
OS: Windows 10 x64
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4600 + GTX950m

So everything was hunkey dory untill I connected a HDMI cable to use my TV as a second screen to watch movies on. The moment I plugged in the cable, the laptop's display got this blue-ish hue to it. Not thinking much of it, I closed the lid and went on with my business. Except now the display still has this color to it and I can't seem to get it to go away. This is not a problem in Windows afaik since the colors are also off when I go into the BIOS upon a reboot. I've updated the drivers for both the onboard and dedicated graphics adapters, but nothing seems to help.

If it still has the same colors in the BIOS, it is possible that could be an issue with the laptop's built in display. We had to send a Sony VAIO in for repairs because the laptop's ribbon cable got twisted in the hinges, it also had a strange blue hue and a lot of the coloring was off no matter what we did, though after they fixed the ribbon cable it was back to normal again.

Though this is nowhere near conclusive for your issue, if it's still showing the problem in the BIOS, it very well could be a hardware issue. It may be worth looking into further.

I find it odd that it would show up just when I plug in that HDMI cable... but I've been dreading it would be something like that :(

It is odd, I'm not saying that IS the issue. I'm saying it might be, just keep searching and I'm sure you'll find a solution one way or the other.

Is there a way to adjust the colour temperature of the screen?

Well I tried prying the thing open, but I'd rather DMA it before I cause more damage to my precious :( It is just under 1 year old yh. Well I could adjust the colors, but then the underlying problem would still be there. Plus I'm seeing image ghosting as if the screen is burned in after having a static image open for only just a minute.
