Should I get liquid cooling?
Now that summer is on its way, my room is getting VERY hot when playing games for an hour or more. I am not interested in overclocking any time soon, and a silent system would be very much appreciated.

As the room gets hotter in the summer, my PC is getting hotter as well, and I am noticing that on my computer's performance. Should replace the stock CPU cooler with a liquid cooling system?

I have enough space for one 140x140 mm or a 240x120 mm system in my case. The price doesn't really matter.

So far I have looked at the following all-in-one solutions:
- Corsair Hydro Series H105 CPU cooler
- Corsair Hydro Series H100i v2 CPU cooler
- Fractal Design Kelvin S24 CPU cooler

I play games such as Witcher III, Arma III, GTA V, Fallout 4 and so on.

My specs are:
Intel i7 4790K @ 4.0 GHz
Zotac GTX 970 OC
Power Supply @ 600W

Am I on the right track, and what are your experiences with liquid cooling?

Thank you!

'Should I get liquid cooling?' One answer, Yes. I have a Corsair H60 high performance liquid cooler 2013 model and it's amazing even though it's 120MM, it still cools the Cpu better than any cheap air coolers.

If your room gets hot, then liquid cooling will make it even hotter.

Liquid cooling does not magically make the heat just go away. It is more efficient at pulling the heat to the radiator and exhausting it out of the case.

But.. It doesn't work miracles. A hot room will only get hotter, if not cooled and vented properly.

My point was that as the room gets hotter in the summer, my PC is getting hotter as well, and I am noticing that on my computer's performance. I'll edit that into the post, I guess I wasn't clear about it :D

But yeah, it will help on the CPU-temps, right? I've looked on forums where people talk about liquid cooling as being a hoax, and that air cooling is the only way to go.

And a liquid cooling system (in the top of the case) will also prevent dust from going in, right? Right now there is just direct flow from the top of the case down to the CPU.

Do you have AC for that room? If not then there really is nothing great cooling wise that could help your PC if you can't lower the ambient room temp.

No, I don't. My only current option is opening the window (and the door, but then I can hear everything going on in the house).

If your room is heating up, then no amount of cooling solutions will help. You need to cool and vent the room.

Well, there is LN...

If its hot in your room water cooling won't really help all that much unless the aio loop was cooled before installing but once it reaches room temp you still have heat issues. On the plus side they are nicer looking then a giant block over the cpu https://imgur.com/H2BrDON
