Thank you very much for this, I'm going to get my corsair vengence 4Go a try tomorrow.
The PSU should be fine, if the ram switch doesn't work I'll borrow my brother's.
Fun fact: while I'm trying to get a 900 bucks to work, my brother is playing without any problem on a frankenstein PC that's around 4yrs old that I built. FML x)
Thank you again !
Anyways I'm downloading windows X, if changing ram for a 4yrs old corsair doesn't work, I'll try to install W X and I'll completly undo then redo my build, who knows ?
Better get some rest and then go at it again bro.
Some more ideas for you to try:
1) Can you borrow your brother's PSU (asuming its more powerful than yours)? If the same happens then you know its not the PSU.
2) Can you test your video card on his computer and see if this happens? So, assuming his power supply is more powerful:
a) The same happens on his computer then you can be 100% sure the problem its the card again, so i would let amazon vendor everything you already tried out and ask for a full refund without asking for a new card, just your money. One time in the country i used to live there was a retailer who had a very huge batch of samsung hdds, almost all of them were DOA or failed after some hours.
a) It doesn't happen then something is wrong with a piece of hardware or software in your PC
3) Do a complete uninstall of the card under windows, including removing it from the device manager, also check if your old card its also in there (shouldn't be), also remove any nVidia windows registry entries and any directory on the hdd related to it and then reboot.
4) King of all ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ideas when we IT guys run out of ideas, backup, format and do a clean OS install (not with Windows 8) with a license of either Windows 7 Pro x64 (and stick with it) or Windows 10 Pro x 64.
Let us know the results :)
I'd just check those. RAM wouldn't be an issue here; if it was you'd be getting BSoD and those sorts of issues if the ram was faulty.
IDK why they on you about what OS to use; Win7 SP1, 8.1 or 10 would be fine; no difference really. Long as it is not Win7 without SP1, or Win8
Best way to test this issue is a clean OS install and go from there.
And I would never suggest ASUS GPU Tweak; just use MSI Afterburner, regardless of what GPU u have.
I even went far as updating my BIOS before realizing that...
Hey, thanks for ansewering :)
1) it's a 500W bronze+ 80, so it's about the same, but it's been running a gtx 760 for 2 years and gtx 660 2 years before, plus a fx4400 (i think) for 4 yrs, we know it's not a faulty PCU !
2) I'll try !
a) I'll think about the refund !
3) I've already done it with DDU, but I haven't cleaned the registy, tbh I barely understabd anything when I'm in there (I tried to check the windows error registry but the only one that I could understand was Kernel Power, caused by me pressing the reboot button so yeah). I'll try to find tutorial if ram swapping ain't working. Most likely I will completly erase my SSD (it has windows are drivers on it) and install windows X.
4) For the clean install I don't have the money to buy a licence, but I've downloaded the Windows ISO from their tool and I'll check if everything works during the 60days trial, then I'll activate it !
I'm going to try Doom, I just downloaded it, i'm sure it'll be quite a challenge for the PC, i'll come back to you after my tests !
But yea just disconnect any secondary HDDs and then wipe the SSD by deleting all partitions during an OS installer, then clean install OS. I would just stick Win10 x64 on it and be done with it.
Forget testing with games; when u get a new GPU, use looping benchmarks to test with; such as Unigine Heaven or Valley. Load up Heaven for example, click the Extreme Preset, click Run. When it comes up, click Benchmark. Let us know the score; which for your specs should be at least 2400+ w/ 50+ FPS average. Can run the benchmark more and then see if the various tests are similar, which they should be, they shouldn't vary much, if at all. For a loop, after a benchmark you can just let it continue to run the endless loop. Let that run for a good day or so and see how it does. If the system & GPU are stable, then it shouldn't overheat or crash.
Hi !
I'm 100% sure it's not the cable and everything hints that it's not the display since when it loses signal and I plug the PC on another screen, it says no signal aswell.
BSoD ? wat ? x)
I'll install WX later on.
It should be properly plugged in, I'll try the other one, but it would be weird to have 2 faulty PCU cable, wouldn't it ? x)
Thank you both anyways !
How do i whipe all partition during an OS installer ? I thought I'd just whipe it, take out my HDD that only contains my games files, then boot the PC with a Windows X bootable key !
And the reason I have no windows product key is that I sold my old PC (alienware 14") and miscalculated how much I had, resulting in my having 20€ left to buy windows x)
I'll try the bench !

*Scroll down to "Download Tool Now" click on Clean Install and read all that.
To wipe a drive that already contains data and/or OS; you simply wipe the drive upon an OS install, here: http://www.tenforums.com/attachments/tutorials/5789d1412186697-windows-10-dual-boot-windows-7-windows-8-a-5439d1412186697-windows-10-technical-preview-clean-install-uefi.png < This is an exmple of a single drive that already contains an OS. You simply click those partitions one by one and delete them all. When all gone, click Next.
Again though, ensure any extra drive are disconnected from system prior to doing OS install, to ensure none of those get deleted, wiped, formatting during this process. After OS install has fully completed, simply shutdown and reconnect any extra drives you have, and also then disconnect your OS installer media / USB flash drive.
I think it's ok but yeah I'll try, it's true that on it there's 2 led and only one is actually on.
I did 2 benchmark in ultra settings on Velley Benchmark 1.0, didn't crash, it dropped FPS due to V synch once but the average was around 60, without crash.
What are you saying about the LEDs? LEDs on what?
Then I would try another HDMI cable if this continues. Or if the GPU is going out under full loads, then try another PSU.
