GTX 960 Vs R9 380

[WHERE'S YOUR MONEY?]

Well the R9 380 went up significantly in price and is sitting at 220 the GTX 960 on the otherhand is 190. Is the preformance similar and does the 960 have NVIDIAs game settings optimizer? If it has both than I am sold on the 960 4gb.

some games do slightly better with the gtx 960, others like the r9 380
both are very close

only get the 4g ver if its the same price or cheaper than the 2g ver

more vram on those cards does not make them any stronger
it will allow for higher game settings, but at those settings it will not hold a playable fps

if you need a gpu over 2g, get a gtx 970+ or r9 390+

I don't really want to spend over $200 on a gpu now Since the really high end 970s will significantly drop in price when the 1070 and 1080 come about

Yes, all 900 series cards use the GeForce Experience/Shadowplay and one-click optimize.

best to just install the driver without the extras, 3d/gfe

don't take the 960... 128 bit isn't rly great, and 960 4gd5 is a waste..
aim for R9 or mid-end 970/high-end 980 non-ti (maybe used)

the best answe to your question will
1. Is the new GPU has significant performance improvement then your current GPU
2. How long will the GPU last down the road?

maybe OP is not in the usa. both gtx 960 and r9 380 is 200$++ equivalent in my country (the philippines)

AFAIK R9 380 would be faster in most cases but GTX 960 would have ShadowPlay (which is slightly better than AMD equivalent), PhysX and do GameWorks stuff more efficiently I guess.

GP106 details has leaked so you may want to wait for the GTX 1060.
You'll likely pay more for that than both of the cards above but you'd also likely get close to GTX 970 performance.

nobody knows. but my guess its going to be released in about 3 months or so.

GTX 1080 is 27th May, 1070 is 10 June.
1060 I have no idea. I think before I've seen something mentioned about July (or possibly August?) for one product but I don't remember if that was speculation for the 1070 or whatever.

All information before has been speculation but like even in early March 27th May was mentioned and it turned out to be spot on so the rumors has been pretty good at telling how it is.
